Looks like absolute numbers. It's an interesting list, but without additional data about their methodology and the ability to sort by other factors, it's mostly just that -- interesting. There are just too many questions that need answering and issues that need addressing before the list becomes truly meaningful. School size, as you point out, is relevant, as is what pre-existing economic indicators existed. For instance, Vandy is the smallest school on the list, but it's an expensive private school and its numbers are almost certainly inflated by the fact that the cost tends to restrict the socio-economic class that even attends it in the first place. If you come from old money, there's really no virtue in being a millionaire after graduating from Vanderbilt/Yale/Stanford/etc. And, as others have pointed out, the local possibilities for making money (say, an area rich in minerals/oil/etc) can have a dramatic effect. That doesn't necessarily mean the people who graduate from that particular university do or don't get a higher quality of education. They may, but that's not an ineluctable proposition.
Why couldn't you have just flamed him instead of making a large, somewhat agreeable post towards him?

LSU clearly doesn't fit and if you weren't sitting on a shitload of oil/gas on- and off-shore you wouldn't be anywhere near that list. But drink up, Corndog. Congrats.
WTF does this even mean ?????
Saying 'if there were no oil/gas' is like saying there were no farms, forests, metropolitan areas, interstate highways, homes, businesses or cities.
Offshore La produces 1/3 of the oil for the ENTIRE COUNTRY, and 10% of gas. We also produce the majority of sugar for the ENTIRE COUNTRY, and also have the #2 tourism industry in the ENTIRE COUNTRY and #2 Movie/TV entertainment industry in the ENTIRE COUNTRY.
Yet, due to the lunatics in DC, Louisiana has yet to see it's full share of oil and gas royalties, and won't until 2017.
But Louisiana, and New Orleans in particular are both among the highest in the country for cutting edge new technology, new business growth, new entrepreneurs and start-ups, job creation and economic growth.

Now, if we could move up to the 49th best state for roadways.

it doesn't help when you have mayors going to prison either.

because it's for public schools and not a fence between Mexico and USA.
who do you think is going to build that fence anyways, Americans?

the Mexicans here aren't really a problem. they work harder and are more pleasant to be around than most other minorities I've seen working menial jobs. they actually work to earn that minimum wage and love doing it. it's crazy

Just chop him up, toss him in the potholes and pave over him. Figure that could fill 2 or 3. Leaving only a couple million, before moving on from Uptown.

Is this per capita or just totals? Ole miss is 3rd smallest school in SEC, of course we aren't on the list.
Y'all could be the biggest university in the world and you'd still lag behind until the Klan starts hiring better investment advisors.
