EDIT2: OU and Utah advance from Session 2. Saturday's final 4 is OU, Utah, UF, LSU. Good showing for the SEC, but OU almost certainly wins another title.
EDIT: LSU beats UF in Session 1, by 0.075pts, both advance to final 4 on Saturday. Session 2 still to come.
Begins today. Today is the semifinal. 3 of the 8 semifinal squads are SEC, 3 are PAC12, 1 Big12, and I have no idea about the other.
Session 1: No. 3 Florida, No. 4 California, No. 6 LSU, and No. 8 Denver
As far as I know - One of UF's better gymnasts might be out with an injury.
Session 2: No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 2 Utah, No. 5 UCLA, and No. 7 Kentucky
Both sessions on ESPN2, 3pm and 9pm ET.
Top two from each session advance to the final 4, on Saturday.
My guess is Cal, LSU, OU, Utah in the final 4. UF could easily be in the final 4, I just don't know about that injury. The gymnast is Trinity Thomas and she is one of the best in the nation.
OU probably wins again. They won it last year with a small margin over UF. OU has won 5 of the last 8 titles. UF has won 3 of the last 9. UF and OU tied for the title in 2014.
An SEC squad (plus OU) has won the title or finished 2nd, or both, for the last 21 titles (22 years, because no title during covid year) and 24 of the last 25.

Not to be overly dramatic, but Trinity Thomas is a 3 time SEC gymnast of the year and probably the best ever at UF. So she is quite a bit more than just one of our better gymnasts. I think we have zero chance without her being 100%. Just hoping to make the finals.
Good luck to Kentucky and LSU!

Better gymnasts? She's the nation's BEST GYMNNAST. Reigning individual national champion and was on track to break the record for most NCAA perfect 10s. Huge blow to UFs chances. She had been practicing a little.

For anyone interested in the Trinity Thomas situation.

Nobody’s beating OU. They are by far the best team

She will get a "10" just for cheering on her teammates on the sidelines.

Saban has the gymnastics team, along with the softball team, participating in spring drills trying to find his next QB and defensive lineman rotation (have you seen the softball girls, mossbacks!)
Just clowning....................

Didn't realize Arky has 2 girls competing for individual honors. One step in the right direction.

Gymnastics is one of those sports where if your big gun goes down because of an injury you are probably screwed. You can't just replace her in the line up because she was the anchor of the lineup.
