Fair enough.
Ice lots of SECranters are playing nicely now that Tduck is gone. This can be a civilized thread that makes for lots of laugh and is very much SEC related and significantly more enjoyable than an 18th thread on Arkansas's new uniforms. Please laugh with us as we come up with snarky reasons for naming humorous awards after our SEC coaches and teams. The banter is what makes this place so great to be a part of.
Reasonable enough to get rid of the anchor?

Obviously it was, I stated the nature of the complaint last year. I didnt do any "campaigning" or "begging" I made a few tongue in cheek comments but majority was about what I was nominated for.

It doesnt matter. Ice equates it to an IM. I'm not sure what requirements have to be met to be an IM thread. Maybe we were just posting too fast for his taste or something. Generating posts is obviously a bad thing.

As someone who hasn't seen these before, what's the problem with them? It sounds fun, and good interaction between posters is always more entertaining than flaming. Did something bad happen with them in the past? What about the awards would offend the mods to the point of anchoring a thread about them?

Your idea sucks Tduck. It takes every ounce of fun out of them. Did you not see how much fun everyone was having in this thread until Ice anchored it? That's where all the enjoyment came from. And that wasnt a single ounce of flaming or trolling going on other than you.
I really dont know what it is you and Ice have against this whole thing. Maybe its just a hatred of fun in general. But the whole thing fricking stinks to high heaven.

He told us. He doesnt like the IM thread at night and wants it gone and he thinks the SECsy's are an extension of it even though I provided examples of how more non IM'ers won awards than actual IM'ers last year.
He wants the SECr to be a strictly business only board that doesnt have anything of any kind outside of SEC sports on it at all. No matter the fact that there are other boards on TD that have awards and even IM threads regularly. The SECr is going to be some shining beacon of Ice'ism in a sea of otherwise terrible whatevers.

Seems like their views of the IM people and how they've acted somehow expanded to the Secsy's.
If we don't get Secsy's because of all of the perceived IM antics, it'll suck.

yea, they hate the IM. hell, i am hardly in the IM enough these days to consider myself an IM thread poster or w/e the distinction is yet i still want the awards. shite, i don't even know which one i could win but as everyone has said they are fun and a good distraction and i'd rather be a part of an online popularity contest than just sifting through shite until september

Think it has to do with people IM I'm the SECscy thread during day when there is no designated IM thread. If it was just campaigning and BS he would tolerate it more but people use the stickied to IM.
It was brought up last year and in years past, however, because we have more people on SECR it became a larger issue than in past.
