Definitely going to LSU.
Will need to decide between Auburn & Ole Miss. Suggestions?

Definitely making the trip to Norman. Trying to hit every SEC stadium at some point.

Been to both. Texass many many times. Seen us win in Austin more than we have lost. Fact.

Have already been to Norman (decent campus, so-so town, great game-day experience) and Austin (beautiful campus and town, great game-day experience).
I would highly recommend both. Like anywhere, including the SEC, if you treat opposing fans with respect and courtesy you will receive the same in return. Be a prick, you will be treated like a prick.

Definitely going to LSU.

The classic Ole Miss trip involves arriving on Thursday, booking a table at City Grocery and another one of the upscale restaurants, hanging out around the square on Friday (downtown Oxford is what a Highland Park housewife would imagine a small town should be: expensive dress shops, high end restaurants and bars, lawyers offices, and a book store), then making the obligatory pilgrimage to the Grove on Saturday to watch the Mississippi "aristocracy" drink out alcohol out of solo cups, while eating cold chicken tenders under chandeliers. It's a cultural experience more than a football experience, and not the easiest trip logistically. Everyone should do it once, but it's not really a favorite of mine.
Auburn is a solid trip. Easy to get to if you are flying (90 minutes from ATL and on the right side of town, unlike going to UGA). Some good places to eat. Solid tailgating. Friendly fans. Good traditional football stadium.

Thank you sir. Just me & the wife, your Ole Miss suggestion sounds like a great long weekend.
I need to get to Auburn at some point because I WILL see the War Eagle at least once before I die.

quote:Norman is a day trip for me for football, but I've stayed there overnight several times for baseball. For a football trip, the ideal places usually have lodging within walking distance of the stadium, and that's not really the case in Norman. That being the case, I might consider staying in OKC in Bricktown (about a 30 minute drive) and have some better Friday night entertainment options than staying in one of the hotels on I-35 in Norman. On gameday, I like to park in the residential neighborhood west of campus (there is an elementary school over there where the PTA used to sell parking spaces). Most of the public parking is south of the stadium around the basketball venue, and it takes a long time to get out of that lot and get moving post-game as all this traffic has to use Highway 9, whereas the residential neighborhood I mention gives you the option to get on I-35 at Lindsey or Main. There wasn't much tailgating back when I last went to Norman, but that might have changed.
I’d like to go to Norman for the OU vs Bama game but it falls on the dates of a very coveted Elk tag I’ve been waiting to draw so I’ve got a lot of thinking to do.

Would like to go to Norman, once. Will Boz be there?
Been to Austin two too many times. No thanks.

Georgia fans drew the short end of the straw this year. It’s F1 weekend, which will take over the city. Flights are double, hotels $500+ a night, and there won’t be any restaurants you can get into all weekend.
Dawgs are also by and large not smart enough to realize San Antonio is just over an hour away, and a great place to stay in its own rite, with a major airport as well.

REM fans aren't boomers dumbass
To be fair, the members of REM are all Baby Boomers (1946-64). That's a 1984 flyer so the bulk of whoever was at that show were probably boomers.

You don't need to be fair, he's a dumbshit.

True, but good luck coming from that side of town.

Exactly. How’s that even a debate? I’d be e-scouting every nook & cranny right about now.

Made Mizzou in 2023 which makes 17 SEC venues I have seen LSU play at plus Tiger Stadium. (I count Memorial in Jackson, Legion in Bham, and War mem in LRock since I saw LSU play SEC teams in those venues.)
Have seen LSU play in Austin (2019) so I need only to make it to Norman when next LSU plays there.

Oklahoma's coming to our place next year, but I'd like to take the trip out to Norman in the future and check it out. It's a reasonably close road trip for me as conference road games go.

For the record baws, I live in the unit I’m gonna draw. I deer hunt it every year, already know every nook and cranny as well as can sleep at home.
So I’d still hunt Wednesday-Friday, the decision is whether I sacrifice Saturday for flying to the game and back same day.
