With Kentucky's fall, does State have an opportunity for a national seed?

#6 in the Baseball America poll.
Co-leaders in the SEC with Florida
Oregon State
North Carolina
Texas Tech
Florida
TCU
Louisville
2 more national seeds between
Wake Forest, Clemson or Virginia
Kentucky or Mississippi State
Arizona or Stanford
Missouri State
LSU will host. Last host will be Arkansas, Southern Miss or Maryland

Auburn can still host if they win the next 2 series. Esp if they sweep them.

UF/UK still easily out in front for a national seed right now in the SEC. MSU really cant afford to trip up @ UGA this weekend and LSU cant either at home against Auburn if either wants a national seed. Both are on the same ground right now. Even if MSU beats UGA, their RPI wont be helped much if any at all.

If state wins the conference they will be a national seed.

To me, today it looks like:
National Seed
Oregon State
North Carolina
Texas Tech
Florida
Texas Christian
Louisville
Clemson
Kentucky
Hosts
Virginia
Arizona
Wake Forest
Stanford
West Virginia
Louisiana State
Mississippi State
Missouri State
Just the current picture, last 2 weekends (plus tournaments) could shift that around quite a bit.

We'll drop atleast one or possibly two @ UGA.
That would be a typical State move.
Need to sweep them or obviously get 2/3.
Skepticism and being a state fan go hand in hand.

I highly doubt we host. We've been slumping after our hot start and are now just 3-5 over our last three series. We finish out with Vandy and A&M so that doesn't bode well for our chances.

I continue to expect us to lose every series. I have no clue how this team is winning.

Same here? Fully expected us to get swept in college station last weekend.
No clue how they are winning.
They've held it together this far with duct tape and bubblegum...it would be nice to see them finish it out.
I know it would feel so rewarding to them knowing that would possibly be the most hard earned sec title maybe ever.

Losing to UGA was a huge setback for UK's national seed hopes. They probably need to win that final series against the Gators in order to get one, in my opinion. We could end up with just one SEC national seed, and three non-national seed hosts. I guess LSU has a theoretical chance to get there, but they'd have to play a little over their heads to win both remaining series. They are good enough to win either of them, but if they play to the norm, they would probably win one and lose the other--they just aren't quite that good this year.
I agree with the Hog fan that there hosting chances are fading a bit--look for the Hogs to get sent to Forth Worth as the 2 seed, and A&M to get sent to Lubbock as the 2 seed.

If I'm Cannizaro I would probably try and hold the ace for game 2 in the regional. There just isn't enough pitching to get through 4 games and State would need to get it done in 3.

This would make an intriguing Super Regional match-up should UK not get the national seed.
I'm interested to see if the committee may show favor to a northeastern team, specifically St. John's or Michigan, to host forwarding the agenda of spreading the sport. St. John's have been ranked for much of the season, but don't have the greatest of RPIs.
Your list looks good, though. May get dicey when it comes to how they like to match up Supers by geography versus the rule of not matching up regionals hosted by members of the same conference.
