I agree here that State will be better offensively. Defensively, obviously we will drop some as some tremendous players will be moving on to play on Sunday’s. That said, the cupboard is not empty on defense. Special teams were decent this year but hopefully will see some improvement as well.
A year in with this coaching staff will be a big plus. Overall, I can see us around 7-5/8-4 next year. Solid good but not great but better than average. Again, we will not be anybody’s homecoming opponent. Those days are in the rear view mirror.

I agree completely with this minus Missouri. I think they take a SMALL step back with the loss of Lock, but they still have a lot of talent everywhere else.

Disagree. We have solid depth at every position, the only place that worries me next year is the secondary. Everything else should be about even or an upgrade, aside from losing josh Allen. Luckily we have guys ready to strip up. I think we should have another 9-10 win season next year

I agree we have better depth returning than people give credit. Stoops has been recruiting to build something solid, not just one good year and back to mediocrity.

However, I also think you underestimate the impact of Josh Allen. He’s a game changer, on the order of a Randall Cobb but on defense. I’m not saying it was the only key, but teams the teams we lost to were the ones that neutralized Allen.

Overall, I expect Kentucky to be improved on offense and fall off on defense. How much of each, I’m not sure.

MSU won't be as good, but the record should be about the same. Maybe a 1 game difference.
A favorable home schedule next year will help

Same - Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Texas A&M, Florida

Better - Arkansas, Tennessee, Missouri

Worse - Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Kentucky, MSU, Auburn, South Carolina

--

Not going to go into too much analysis right now. I think Mizzou lands Kelly Bryant tonight, and in turn that will push us over the edge for being a better team next year. Also, our schedule is lining up perfectly for us to land in Atlanta. Cheers.

Why does anyone think Auburn will be better next year? Does anyone (even them) know who will play QB next year?

I'd be willing to bet that Auburn has some lean years ahead of them.

Bama - Two games worse

Seriously? What leads you to believe the talent and coaching at Bama will lose two games next year? Bama could easily be just as, if not more, dominant in 2019. Sounds like wishful thinking on your part.

SC will have a worse record, but be a better overall team. Brutal schedule.

Same. Defense will take a step back but will still be top 20. Offense will improve. Net will be 8-4 again

You lose like 8 or 9 starters on defense and some of the best players you’ve ever had. I would be shocked if State had a top 20 defense next year.

Perhaps all the freshmen and sophomores that played this year, and a whole new Oline

Maybe next year. After that, GusShortBus will be gone.

What's worse than worse because that's what we'll be.

We're going to be a used diaper, filled to the brim with spicy, ethnic cuisine from Al Hafez.

Yes, they will. And for Christ's sake, it's "worse" not " worst."

Can you fricking speak in English?

LSU should be better. Just about everyone is coming back, Burrow will be more experienced, we're plugging some holes on the lines, and we'll have a real stud at RB that we missed this year, and we have a much more favorable schedule to contend with.

That being said, just because things on paper look easier for us, for O, the pressure on him is going to get ramped up big time. If he fails to win 10/11+ reg season games and make a strong case for the playoffs, he's going to have a very hard time explaining that one away.

I can see us winning 11 games next season, but we're not beating Bama. If O gets a legit OC then maybe I'll reassess.

Next season will probably be our best shot at the playoffs for a while. It's exciting but also frustrating because we're a legit OC hire away from a very special season. Damn it Orgeron, do what's best for the program and remove Ensminger!

I just don't see any of these team improving upon what were good seasons by their own standards.

Actually we should be better next year.
