God DAMN I love this fan base. Who else loves their team like Alabama does? We won't have a shot at the BCSNC next season because we lose too many players. That's all I'm sayin'. Any year 'Bama can't compete for the National Championship, is a down year, in our book. That's how we roll.

We need to win it THIS year, while we have the peeps. Next year LSU will win it all. I don't want to have to listen to that without having a BCS Championship up there in front.

Because that has so much to do with the current state of Alabama's football program. Hell, lets just go ahead and use 1998, 1999, and 2001 has reasoning as to why AU sucks this year. At least bring something half-way intelligent to an argument.

According to one idiotic Alabama poster on here (I don't think he's posted in this thread), Alabama has a chance every year just because they are Alabama. According to him, they could lose every starter and still have the same expectations. There's a reason us Auburn fans didn't expect much, and rightly so. Our team this year was just too young, and Bama will be replacing too much talent next season. They will still be pretty good, however.

Auburn plays two FCS schools next year?

I guess

FWIW, I don't know if that's the legit schedule. It was one posted over here, and I just ran with it... If so, we would have to win 7 games to make a bowl, which I assume would definitely happen.

I agree. You said we would be lucky to make a bowl game though, which is just nuts.

The 2012 team will be similar to the 2010 team. Not NC caliber, but if a couple of things fall our way, we could certainly win the SEC.

This. Saying Bama has no shot next year to compete for or win the SEC is ignorant

Bama will be talented enough that if luck goes our way we could go undefeated next year but an 11-2 or 10-3 year is more likely with the youth. McCarron should be a solid starter who can win some games for us by then.

Don't hold out hope for anything more than a 2 or 3 loss season next year. Really.

Thats certainly better than barely bowling.
Who on Bama is irreplaceable:
Upshaw, prob our biggest loss
TR hard to replace but Lacy and Hart and maybe even Simms are a capable committee behind what will prob be better O line if Jones stays and moves to center.
Im not so sure Lester goes
Millner has plenty of exp
Mosely can and will replace Hightower
Depreist is a beast and so is Hubbard.
Ha Ha is gonna be a good one.
LSU, AUB, ARK, UGA will be tough games but all winnable on any given Sat.
2-2 or above .500 in that stretch is a great season.

I am thinking LSU will be much better. We only lose 1 or 2 defensive starters and only 2 or 3 offensive starters.

Mett should be at least as good as Lee. Our Defense should be even better, and the only early defection I can see right now may be Claiborne. But CB is one of our deeper positions.

Also the biggest part of the equation - MUCH MUCH easier schedule.

Well, I don't think it's possible for them to be any worse...

LSU will be good, but they'll be back to QB issues in 2012.

Did you forget a certain big-armed QB we have named Zach Mettenberger? He's more talented than any of the 5 QBs we have on scholarship right now.

Don't we definitely lose 4 in Baker, Adams, Hatcher & Taylor?

And we could possibly lose Mo, Sam & Brockers.
