Will the SEC become it's own worse enemy?

Now that we have a playoff will the future Sec destroy itself in the near future from reaching the playoffs? I think this is a legit question.
Even though Alabama won't have Saban forever, bama is still gonna be bama pulling in recruits. Les Miles might not be with Lsu much longer but Lsu will always get recruits because unlike most Sec teams, they have no instate competition. Both Mississippi teams are rising and Arkansas, Auburn, ATM are going to bounce back. The Sec east will eventually see Florida, Tennessee, Uga etc get better. Kentucky has not got it done under stoops but the money coming in to Sec programs now is at it's highest. Therefore even Kentucky etc will field some good teams time to time.

not quite as bad as being its own worst enemy.

But seriously. Clemson got in because of a weak conference. In the future a 10-2 sec team could be the best in the nation and get passed over.

How in gods name is state rising? They are in front of a cliff and minutes from falling.
Mullen tried his best to jump ship.

Some of the parity from the 90s would hurt the SEC today, if it happened again.
Let's say UF beats Vawls in September but UF loses two SEC East games and UT only loses to Bama from there forward. Vawls would go to Atlanta. If they faced Bama again and won, they'd be a two loss SEC Champ. That would hurt the conference with regard to the playoff. After this year though, I think the committee is going to see that a two loss conf champ may still be worthy - witness Stanford and OU in bowl season as exhibit 1. Also note LSU's 07 title with two losses as exhibit 2. In that scenario I think UT would get in the playoff so long as the SEC was still seen as a tough conference in that given year.
As long as the SEC remains the toughest conference, I think it'll be fine. But the conference can't afford to have a bunch of teams go to bowl season and throw out a Treon type performance as UF did this year and the whole SEC West did last year.

It's probably because he interviews 11 times per offseason.

Order will be restored soon.

Says who? UM fans been talking about Mullen leaving since he got here. His second year here after winning 9 games your base posted on your site how he was leaving to so and so. He's going on 8 years and the same talk. Obsession?

Maybe if he actually had even interviewed for one, I could see maybe an iota of evidence to this
