Not reading the rest of this shite, but does it even matter? At LSU, all but one of Saban's starting QB's were black. We all know that guy will play whomever he wants to play and the minute someone tries to control him, he's off to the NFL. Don't know about before or after, but as long as Saban is there, its a non issue.

Unofficially, Cooper led the team with 57 yards

So on average, Cooper caught the ball 4.75 yards downfield.

Wow. WOOOOOOWWWWWWWW. Did you not read the part where only 46% of the yards came after the catch where last year your average was 52%?

ETA: Just admit no matter what happens you are going to want Coker to start.

Or tell us what Sims would have to have done to impress you.

Is your mind made up that Coker is the man and Sims cannot be?

No, on average Cooper caught the ball 6.08 yards downfield.

130 yards - 57 after catch / catches

Last year the number for the entire team was 5.79 yards downfield on average.

Sims threw for 250 yards in his first game. It took McCarron 14 games to amount that yardage

I thought he played pretty well, and he might give us the best chance to win this year.

But, 2/3's of the QB's in the SEC would have had the same passing stats if they'd been in Sim's situation. He completed easy passes against a bad defense. He did what he was supposed to do. I'm not complaining about that, but I'm also not willing to call it more than it was.

I don't have a problem with Sims starting the whole year, if he's the best we've got. But, let's get a little more of a sample size before we proclaim him a great QB. I'm not sold yet.

Of course not. Because people see things differently when their own opinions are formed before the event takes place.

He saw a bunch of completed short passes and the statline that said 1/5 over 15 yards! horseshite! He didn't take into account what was actually going on in the game, the circumstances, and most definitely not the stats.

Also for what it is worth, I want to see plenty of Coker too this Saturday, but I am more excited for Sims progressing through this year.

I have seen nothing yet that shows me Jennings can complete 72% of his passes. I hope he proves me wrong

You morons do know that yards after the catch don't count in NFL fantasy football, right? Meaningless stats.

Big dummy.

We've had this dogma that Bama just won't play black QB's and we've lost a couple recruits because of this. Will it end since apparently Sims is our guy and he beat out several white QB's?

Your fans are still clamoring for the white backup savior. Saban said the QB battle is not over. Right?

Most Bama fans don't want a black quarterback, plain and simple.

Really? I'd take Russell Wilson as my QB any day. Man, that Seattle offense is terrific.

If Sims can show he has the skills to win the game when things are tight or Bama falls behind to a really good team, then he will have won me over. The same goes for Coker.

I think anyone with any football acuity could see that the offense versus WVA was simplified and designed to reduce the risk of a bad play from the qb. There was not much confidence shown in Sims abilities. (unlike what aTm did with Miller)

I want to see if Sims can fit the ball into a tight coverage situation. i.e. when the receiver is not five yard open and standing still. I also want to see the elusiveness everyone talks about. So far, his running skills have not been extraordinary. (compare his running to Nick Marshall's)

I wouldn't have a problem having RuPaul as qb if he/she can be the type of qb who wins championships.

What? Did you miss the part where the average throws were more downfield with Sims then with McCarron?

Jesus man, do you know what elusiveness means? The guy juked out of 3-4 sacks easily and made positive yardage on all of the plays. He was a retarded dropped pass from 350 total yards in his first start with a new OC.
