They will get more #1 votes, but not enough to get the #1 spot.

They should. Beating #1 at home is better than any other win. Its not like we are in week 10. These rankings are speculative. If A&M wins it means they have a d. If A&M has a D - they will roll.

Nope.

We will not be ranked number 1 until we go into Baton Rouge and go in dry by 3 touchdowns, because frick LSU®, that's why. One game at a time.

It's a shame A&M won't win, because this thread would be an endless source of enjoyment on Monday if they did.

Of course A&M would jump to number #1. It's the beginning of the season and nobody really knows who the best team is. We just know who the best teams are, Bama, OSU, LSU, Clemson, Stanford & Oregon.

Oregon jumped OSU because OSU didnt look amazing against Buffalo in a win. a convincing win over bottom feeding Tennessee is not going to compare well with a repeat win over the far and away presumed best team of the past 5 years.

It'll be the first marquee win of the year, and the first win over a #1 by a fellow undefeated in years.

you all are looking at A&M and seeing the #6 ranking you ought to look at the current rankings like this:

1. Alabama
2. Oregon
2a. Clemson
2b. Ohio St
2c. Stanford
2d. Texas A&M
