Will Saban be the next Bobby Bowden/Joe Paterno?

It’s obvious Saban is in the twilight of his career. And while he’s still brining in great recruiting classes and just won the SEC, it cannot be denied he’s lost a step or two over the last several season. But his appearance and demeanor in the postgame interview after last night’s Rose Bowl loss, really brought all this in focus…

… he looks thoroughly worn out, not from just this one game but in general.

The question is, will he hang on too long like Bowden did at Florida State and Paterno did at Penn State to the point his legacy will be that while he took Alabama to the pinnacle of success, he stuck around to the point the game wore him down, pass him by, and in the end he drove the program into the ground?

The fact you don’t want to address the proverbial elephant in the room doesn’t negate the fact there is in fact a proverbial elephant in the room.

I don’t know anything but wouldn’t be shocked if he steps down this year. He’s won a bunch, has more money than God and he’s 72 years old. Go play with the grandkids and fvck the NIL, portal grind. He can’t coach forever…..just my take.

Yes, he will roam the sidelines mumbling to himself and excuse himself at the first scandal that comes out

Well, Saban wouldn’t let a coach molest kids, so let’s leave Paterno out of the discussion.

Paterno went 11-2 and finished in the Top 10 his last two years at 81 and 82 years old. I think Saban and Bama are good for another 5 years.

Bowden & Paterno had that "Biden distant stare" thing going for several of their last years.. Saban would be the sharpest teacher, motivator and developer of young minds on many campuses today.

One day he will retire. One day he will die, as will we all. We Bama fans will enjoy the hell out of him being our coach as long as we have him.

You are a sad a pathetic guy. Why don’t you post some more model tanks?

That red X won’t take away the fact that Bama and Milroe reached down 80,000 Auburn fans’ throats and yanked their hearts out and made fools of your coaching staff, or that Auburn is 4-12 vs Bama the last 16 years.
