someone should let the OT know that cops shooting dogs isn't a recent thing... apparently they've been doing it for years...

Man, you know, they just want to die out and we won't let them. Sometimes you've got to put a good dog down.

I'm no Auburn fan, but that is a school that is RENOWNED for being a top-flight veterinary school. I'm sure all precautions are taken regarding the health of the eagle.

i thought this already happened and PETA was the reason we removed the eagle from the netting/cage by the football feild becuase the branches weren't wide enough in diameter.
It may have been PETA that filed the complaint, but the change happened due to the US Fish and Wildlife Service. WFS grants/oversees a license for every raptor in captivity, whether it be at an individual falconer, zoo or other institution. Also, as eagles are considered endangered, they are all technically owned by the US and issued "on loan" to the organizations that keep them.

Auburn actually held the license for Tiger and she was kept on campus and cared for by Alpha Phi Omega (they had been responsible for the eagles since the 1960). If I remember correctly, there was a complaint filed with FWS in 2000 that claimed Tiger was not receiving the best care. FWS transferred the license from the University as a whole to the Raptor Center, who then moved her from the on campus site to SRRC.

I believe they also tried to twist it, that there was no "education" going on. since thats one of te reason we are allowed to have them at events

So does PETA.

I find your rant about pandas ironic because most bulldogs are bred via AI, and birthed via c-section.

That's true. Whenever AU hosts UK in basketball, a large proportion of the Cat fans in attendance are Kentucky students in Auburn's veterinary school.

Hope so, Auburn is conservative as hell and should always be in the crosshairs of batshit crazy liberal orgs like PETA.

If I'm not mistaken, birds of prey like Nova and Spirit that are used by Auburn cannot be released back into the wild due to some form of injury.

It's very doubtful, considering what Auburn does in terms of raptor rehabilitation.

But the truth is it wouldnt surprise me for PETA to go after all teams with live mascots... bastards

They already made a stink with LSU. The truth is, Mike's home is 10 times the size of mine I think.
