Lol, take out that nice streak and we are left with 61-30. Shows that since then, we have won two Egg Bowls for every one that MSU wins.

Is this the thread where Ole Miss fans that were born in the late 80's and early 90's talk about football in the 60's?

No, it's a thread talking about what State did before our great grandparents were born.

That's the way it's looking.

Although(REBEL5 AC analogy time), if you show up to fight a guy who has a 17 inch machete and all you have is a 10 round pistol. What are you going to do? He's going to call you a pussy, but you know that he's just saying that because he has to. Ole Miss brought the gun to the fight, y'all just some machete wielding 1

Take out the Vaught years and we lead 43-38. You can play that game with any series. By the way, the series is 59-45 on the field. I don't count forfeits that are forced years later because of NCAA BS.

Since we are using arbitrary timeframes here, since I have been alive we lead the series 14-13, which is all that really matters to me since I wasn't around for all the other games.

Also, I have only been to the last 21 Egg Bowls, and we are 12-9 in those games.

It's all a matter of perspective, and for the last generation it has been pretty much even.

Yeah, well take out E. B. Beaumont, Otto Wagonhurst, Allen McCants, W. A. Martin, Malcolm Griffin, M. S. Harvey, W. B. Blount, Jack Leavenworth, J. W. H. Pollard, D. V. Graves, Thomas Kelley, Xen C. Scott, Wallace Wade, Frank Thomas , Frank Thomas, Harold Drew, Jennings B. Whitworth, Bear Bryant, Ray Perkins, Bill Curry, Gene Stallings, Mike DuBose, Dennis Franchione, Mike Shula, Joe Kines, Nick Saban, and leave Eli Abbott and Guy Lowman and Ole Miss has a winning and undefeated record against Alabama(2-0)

I like this game.

Egg Bowl series notes
Official series record is red and blue at 61-43-6

The "on the field" record is 59-45-6 in favor of the Rebs

The game has been played every season since 1944

Ole Miss leads 55-26-5 since the Golden Egg was first awarded in 1927

Ole Miss is 22-11-2 in Oxford

Ole Miss is 20-13-3 in Starkville

Mississippi State leads at neutral sites with an 18-17 record

The in-state rivalry has been played in seven locations, listed chronogically:
1) Starkville (1901)
2) Columbus (1902)
3) Jackson (1906)
4) Tupelo (1915)
5) Oxford (1918)
6) Clarksdale (1919)
7) Greenwood (1921)

The game has been played in Jackson twenty nine times, including eighteen straight contests from 1973 to 1990.

Ole Miss holds a 16-13 series lead in games played in Jackson and won 12 of the 18 contests played consecutively in our state's capitol from 1973 to 1990

The Egg Bowl was, surprisingly enough, played twice in 1918, first in Starkville in November and then in Oxford in December. Mississippi State won both contests, shutting out Ole Miss twice to the tune of 47-0

Mississippi State leads the series 12-10 since the SEC originally expanded in 1992

The series is tied at 7-7 since 2000

Decade-by-decade "champions:"
1) 1900s (six games) - Ole Miss at 4-2
2) 1910s (eight games) - Mississippi State at 7-1
3) 1920s (nine games) - Mississippi State at 5-3-1
4) 1930s (ten games) - Ole Miss at 7-3
5) 1940s (nine games) - Ole Miss at 5-4
6) 1950s (ten games) - Ole Miss at 8-0-2
7) 1960s (ten games) - Ole Miss at 7-1-2
8) 1970s (ten games) - Ole Miss at 6-4
9) 1980s (ten games) - Ole Miss at 7-3
10) 1990s (ten games) - Mississippi State at 4-6
11) 2000s (ten games) - Ole Miss at 6-4
12) 2010s (four games) - Mississippi State at 3-1
