Yes. It is a NCAA suspension.
It would be moot if he transfers to another FBS program because he'd have to sit out a year anyhow.
The only way he plays at all next season if he transfers is to go Juco or FBS and serve the remainder of the suspension.

I don't think he is a lock to be the starter after the suspension is over. If Del Rio or one of the freshman win the starting job and are doing good then he could be a back up.
Seems like if he left he would have to site out a year for the transfer then miss the first 6 games with the new team. Maybe he is going JuCO? i can't seem him leaving unless he has found a loop hole around missing 6 games.

right. i doubt felipe franks or eason would be able to beat out a 21 yeard old seasoned del rio who is not untalented.
