I've looked at that schedule 3 times and I still come up with a solid 5-7 season.

Sucks so bad I've done it for 31 years. I like it, obviously. It isn't for everybody and like any other place there are problems, but there's a lot to like.

ETA: I've only been to Ocean Springs once other than passing through. It was for, as I recall, kid #2 in south state HS track. Or maybe it was kid #3 soccer - it has been awhile. Nice town, no complaints, but too congested for me to live there. That's universal that close to the coast.

First, realize you are replying to an obvious OM alter.

Second, the 2012 team was our 2nd-worst team under Mullen by almost any unbiased metric you want to look at. Per Sagarin, it was a whole 3 spots better than the 5-7 team from Mullen's first year. It was 11 spots worse than the 2011 and 2013 teams. The 2010 team was by far our best in this era.

It will be a big disappointment if the 2014 team isn't every bit as good as that 2010 team -- and I expect it to be better.

The big pluses for me are all the green (having grown up in Texas) and the lack of congestion. For me the best part wouldn't occur to most people: I can get on my bike at the house, ride 5 or fewer miles in any direction, and be completely alone. I love that. Also the Vicksburg Military Park is the absolute best training ground there is for cyclists and runners. Most of the negatives are small town vs. bigger town: not many restaurants, horrible movie theater, no real shopping (a plus for a husband), but we're close enough to those things that it doesn't seem like a big deal.

LOL, seriously . The missus talked me into the Haunted Vicksburg Ghost Tours tour a few years ago, and it was highly entertaining. Not because we saw ghosts or evidence of ghosts, but because the host sounded like he was auditioning for Tales From the Darkside. I wish I had recorded him, because there's no way to convey how cheesy and at the same time entertaining he was.

1999 or probably 2010. But 2012 wasn't anywhere near those two teams.
