Will 0-21 ever be matched in the SEC?

It just seems so mind-boggling that an SEC school could go 0-21 in consecutive games. 1998-2000 must have really sucked.

Arkansas gave it the old college try.

Those two numbers usually mean something completely different on this board.

Yup. And back then our attendance numbers and fan support really didn't drop much (though a lot of people left at halftime).

We're still pretty good at staying through thick and then, but it just seems like the old environment I grew up in is fading away in that regard.

What's worse, 0-21 in consecutive games...or 0-31 vs the same team.

How good was Clemson during that time?

Hard times weed out the t-shirt and bandwagon fans. The fact that you have another P5 program in state creates a natural competition for fans.

Clemson winning like they are now might be impacting the fans sticking through thick and thin.

We are lucky in Arkansas that we are the only in state P5 program. Our t-shirt and bandwagoners will simply quit watching or root for us to lose. We never really lose them to another team.

It was pretty crazy, and I doubt it will ever happen again. You'd think we could have lucked out and won at least one game by mistake. Holtz first year our team was so thin on the OL that we were literally moving career DL to OL on Tuesday and having them start that weekend against SEC teams.

Clemson was coming off the Tommy West dark years and just starting with Tommy Bowden. They were better than us, but not anywhere near where they are now.

Clemson wasn't good back then. They had fired Tommy West in 1998 and had just hired Tommy Bowden.

As for the t-shirt and bandwagon fans, ours probably are less of a percentage of our fan base than other SEC schools, simply because we are mediocre historically. In 2000, after losing 21 straight games, our season opener was against New Mexico State and there were 81,000 people there.

As much as I hate to say it, this is a really good question.

I'm trying to remember when Missouri won a SEC game. Did they beat Arkansas last year?

Fun fact: Louisiana people were never known as heavy drinkers until the 90's came around

A SEC football suckage thread that doesn't involve Vanderbilt.

I gotta go with 0-21.

Losses to teams like Marshall & East Carolina push it over the top.

In 1999 they failed to reach double digits in 6 games and only averaged 12 ppg.

I agree, though after the first 1 win season, most just showed up to tailgate and socialize.

The Ole Miss "were just here to party" mantra.

W-B has really gone downhill. It was a morgue for the UGA game last year. Used to be the loudest stadium in the league.
