Hell no. I am pulling for Clemson all the way here. I can't remember the last time Clemson stole a Louisiana player. Saban is stealing them left and right.

Yeah, but Saban isn't going to stop getting his pick of the litter just because he loses one title game. He's well past the point that would be an issue for him. I'm not saying the danger is as large as the OP implies, but it's still a legitimate concern whenever another team in the Southeast starts developing a strong recruiting base. Think what OM has done to other SEC programs nearby, and they haven't sniffed the CFP. How much worse would they have been for other SEC recruiting bases if they had?

Because f**k Alabama and their fans. To be so wealthy in coaching, talent, wins, championships, all americans, heisman hopefuls/contenders, draft picks, top NFL players, etc, you have a load, a huge Internet following of insecure asshat fans.

You and Buckeye fans before yesterday are literally the worst CFB fanbases in the country.

I have no problem with the chest thumping and bragging because the program and coach are as consistently good as any team ever, it's just that the constant insecurity of the fanbase is annoying AF.

Geography helps them a great deal in this regard but Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and even Alabama are recruiting grounds that Clemson could open up a bit more with a win. They'd be just another pain in the arse in a very long line of pains in the arse (including one another) when it comes to recruiting but the SEC schools in those states do have a vested interest in protecting those grounds from outsiders as much as they can.

It doesn't much matter to me since we've always been committed to recruiting nationally but at the same time I'd rather have an easier road to get recruits. Even though I'm not terribly heartbroken over it, I'd rather have Higgins than not and a year ago Clemson would've had no chance with him. That's something to watch because it's another competitor that's joined the fold that wouldn't have been around without Watson making a splash.

Clemson was good even before Watson

Remember Boyd to Watkins

Clemson is the only team outside of the BIG who has beaten Ohio State since maybe LSU in 2008

None of that matters. Making the playoffs, OTOH, does and so does winning a NC. THAT is something that can change things with recruits.

No because the 2001 Texas recruiting class for Mack Brown came after two Holiday Bowls and a Cotton Bowl
This is the class that was ranked #1 and contained Vince Young

Exactly. Just being in that game is positive enough.

I pulled for every SEC team including LSU. And so did entire fan base watching before our game inside the Ga Dome.

I will also pull for AU over OU today (holding my nose) but war eagle all game.

Alabama is the biggest concern for SEC football. Not Clemson. Any football fan that is sick of Bama and their entitled fans will be pulling for Clemson.

First, Trevor Lawrence, would be committed to UGA if the dawgs didn't have Eason and Fromm, he was going to sit. I'm still not convinced he'll beat out Chase Brice in a year. TL is not Watson. He's a project still.

And as far as raiding GA, they have to go somewhere because SC like AL highschool football is WEAK. But to your point the dawgs have locked down 14 of the top 26 in the state, 7 of the top 15; spot while Clemson has gotten 1 of top 26, Terrell #15 CB; which UGA has filled that need already.

I hope Clemson wins, I like seeing other schools win titles, Bama gets old after a while.
