For the same reason that Saban had consecutive ten win seasons, when LSU fans were convinced he wouldn't do it.

Never had back to back 10 win seasons
Never had an undefeated season
Never had a Heisman Trophy winner
Never won with an inexperienced QB

I'm sure I'm missing something but so far nothing that Saban has done at Bama could have been predicted by looking at his time with LSU.

Only way they could possibly lose to Penn St. is if the game was played in Stadium.

Been wanting to pull that one out for a while

We all know Saban can not win Thursday Games that start at 3PM, that happen on an even numbered month on an odd number day.

I celebrate the NC for Bama, but the mantality of the pursuer and the pursued is very different. Those kids won't be as hungry next year.

Only reason they won't be, as a whole, is the loss of Fat Cody

Except his credibility in recruting...his time at LSU sold those kids and their parents.

Here's a fact for you, Alabama isn't going to go 12-0 every regular season. The fact that they've done it two years in a row is insane by itself. Alabama will lose games, its simply the law of probability. Next year, replacing almost the entire defense, they may lose 2 or 3 games. So what? In 2011 they'll be competing for another national title. All I know is that Alabama won't be breaking LSU's record for most losses by a defending national champion.

Don't forget 6 of 8 SEC teams are taking the week off prior to Alabama.

The cards are definitely stacked against us.
