A 25-30 yard pass gets you in FG range. They couldn't play the pervert D, but there should be no way you let any WR get behind you.

I watched the replay this morning and this is the only thing I could think of what UT was doing. Protecting from the deep ball and from UF getting into FG range. UT made the right defensive call (quarters) but the execution was fricked from the get go.IMO

Yesterday was like Butch and Coach O were having a "who can coach the worst" contest.

At the very least you play cover 4 and tell you're DBs do not come up on a WR until the ball leaves the QBs hands.

Definitely. They were in nickel and played it like a normal play from scrimmage when it comes to safety depth and how tight CBs were to the LOS. It was really bizarre to see it on replay.

They gave up basically the same play to UGA last year and were bailed out by our players being undisciplined fricktards.

Because Florida has a kicker who has the leg to put it up from 65 yards.

So they covered the outside routes and had four deep.

Not a Butch Jones mistake on that one. That was the player screwing up on the Tenn side and letting him get behind him.

Add in I don't think anyone expected Franks can throw on a dime from 65 yards...which is absolutely insane.

This...outside of special teams, UT is a poorly coached team

Exactly. Plus, people seem to forget that a field goal beats the Vols at that point in the game. They could have thrown a 30 yard pass to run out of bounds to set up the winning field goal. Number 22 cannot cover a snowman and Abernathy took the wrong angle. Should have been backing up.

We had the shorter throw covered(same as two years ago the Callaway play), Franks saw single coverage on the other side and just bombed it. Tenn actually covered what UF was trying to do originally, but the safety screwed up.
