It's Pat Forde attention whoring at it's finest. After his first article he pretty much got called out by several of his peers for the hack piece. He continues to try to justify it with stuff like this:
Which I'd gladly call BS on because even fans that were disgruntled with the season were nowhere near the point he was with his article IMO. And I honestly don't know a UK fan that actually likes Pat Forde.
Or on the fact that he actually tries to suggest that Cal didn't win what he won in previous seasons because the team wasn't "100% of his making". Or that one and a half seasons should outweigh the sample size of the rest of his tenure at UK. All before he "apologizes".
And I have to ask, why'd it take him so long to write this piece? No one heard a peep from him after the Wichita State game or especially the Louisville game.
OP's right. He still sucks. And I'm sure he has another piece in cue to shite on UK/Cal should they lose to Wisconsin or even in the NC if they make it that far.

I tweeted him during the fall when it came out that we had players receiving Western Unions. I told him that I had the scoop. He immediately added me and started messaging me, wanting to meet me at a local restaurant/bar to tell him all I know. He's a douche.

I had him willing to meet me at a bar. I told him I wasn't showing because I felt bad thinking about him sitting there alone.

Forde has attacked Cal and UK on numerous occasions. Personally, I do think he is a douche. His love for Pitino and UofL is one thing. To attack another program and coach is something completely different. All UK fans will agree that Forde has, and will continue to be, the biggest UK hater out there. But as a "professional" journalist, if one can't give their opinion of a coach, program, etc, without their pure hatred coming out, maybe they should change professions or call it the hack job it is.

It reads like a mea culpa. I think b/c of the history with Cal, Forde realizes he has to give credit. But he is befuddled and honestly doesn't know what to say, so he just sounds amazed. It's true he could have written a better article if he wasn't biased, but at least he gave praise in some way.
