I would think that this won't help recruiting at all....unless LSU makes a permanent hire before the season is over.

it ends a lot of uncertainty...now you know what guys were coming due to coaching staff vs the guys who were coming to LSU. If you're losing some guys you're losing them much earlier in the process and giving yourself time to maybe form relationships with some replacements.

It worked so well for South Carolina.

This is not a troll and although they are way better than South Carolina, they are not nearly as good as the fans think they are. Ole Miss, Alabama, A&M, and Arkansas all have better talent right now. LSU is an average to above average football team. I mean Dural cost them that game by first not getting out of bounds, then he wasn't even set for the last play if it had counted, and then he didn't even run a route he just stood there like a punk.

They have a great tailback, average QBs, above average receivers and possibly a solid D but Auburn's offense is bad. The bottom line is that the fans have an inflated sense of how good the team is based on hype and hype alone. But the right coach will bring in better all around talent.

That's true.

Would you expect/hope Aranda is staying?

I would bet Aranda is staying. My take on this, he doesn't have a miles clause in his contract. We are likely hiring an offensive minded coach. Aranda is also a top of the line DC so I doubt we force him on the next coach, but a smart coach keeps him. I think most of the coaches respect him

Absolutely. Honestly I'd hope the majority of the staff would stay but that's not the business. I honestly thought we may be grooming Aranda to be the new guy had we had a few good years with him as DC. It would be really awkward now to promote then demote O and then make Aranda a HC. I'd love to somehow keep both if we would somehow land Herman.

Couldn't risk letting him go on a run and win 6-7 games in a row and have last year happen again

Aranda and Herman both went to the same college Cal Luthern at the same time. I remember reading something about them being friends.

Because LSU doesn't know how to conduct coaching searches/changes.
