If they’re so worried about COVID. Instead of screwing over NC State like this.

That way all teams can be on equal footing regarding pitchers and best teams win and advance to finals. Just postpone MSU-Texas and vandy-nc state till next Saturday then have finals on Monday.

Isolate all players. Test them Friday. All negative tests can play. It’s the only fair way to do this IMO other than just letting them play this weekend

When has the NCAA ever done the smart thing? That makes too much sense so of course they’d do the exact opposite.

As a Vanderbilt fan, bias aside these NC State players worked too damn hard for their season to end like this. How come no one in that stupid office has a viable contingency plan for something like this? It’s like wtf were they doing the past month?

Why the hell were they still testing? At this point you either have been vaccinated and should be good or have decided you’re willing to risk getting sick. Why are people still babysitting us?

Because COVID is being used as an excuse for the powers that be to do what they want and determine outcomes.

Excuse to shutter small businesses while increasing profits to big corporations.

Excuse to implement socialist policies without congress

Excuse to determine sports tournament outcomes.

Among a myriad of other things. They’ve figured out they have unchecked power as long as it’s in the name of public health.

It’s our fault that we allow it to happen, until we decide to stop it, it will continue

Or they just don’t want to pay for more days of hotels and more travel expenses

This is one of those times where teams need to tell the ncaa to frick off. Like when MSU won the SEC in basketball in 62-63 season and the state of Ms barred them from playing in the NCAA tourney because Loyola Chicago was integrated. State told them to frick off and went and played anyways

NC State and Vandy should agree to play today regardless and loser goes home. Texas/MSU should agree to play the winner regardless of what the NCAA thinks. If they have any ounce of what’s right they’d do this and I would support it regardless if it hurt or helped or our chances, I want it properly decided on the playing field

Shame on anyone taking the field tonight.
Shame on anyone entering TD Ameritrade tonight.
Shame on anyone tuning in to watch it on TV.

Bama used Covid to ensure that they beat tOSU and now Vandy benefits from it too.

What is the point of the remaining teams playing? No one will recognize it as a true championship even the teams still playing I bet!

Would somewhat restore my faith in humanity if the remaining teams agreed to sit out for a week until NC State can get back to full strength, and then continue the tournament.

But I'm not holding my breath.

Does anyone know if NC State had enough players test negative to field a team? What I mean is are they restricted because of contact tracing or because they had THAT many players test positive.

They need to because that is the fair and honest thing to do. But they have no pride!

I feel for the NCS players - first, they had to play short-handed against Vandy yesterday, and now this.

They deserve better than this treatment. Integrity and pride is lost with the NCAA and these schools.
