There's nothing special about that rivalry in fact the only reason i remember its still a rivalry is because Bama fans love hanging pictures of them playing UT in their trailers. Rivalries worthy of annual scheduling include the Iron Bowl, DSOR, the Egg Bowl, and whatever the frick you call UT/UF. The only good TSIO does for Bama is pad their stats, it also has a shitty name.

The two most important programs in the conference will continue to dictate the scheduling. You’ll just have to deal with it sorry

Just because many of you were born in recent history doesn't mean it started there.

Blue hairs.

As a Bama fan who is under the age of 40, I hated Fulmer way more than I've ever hated Tennessee. When he was fired, that hatred died a lot.

I think they build it up as their main rivalry to spite Auburn. I'd probably do the same thing if I were a Bammer, so I can't say much

For a lot of the older fans it is the more important of the two. Bryant anointed it as the more important of the two when he started the tradition of handing out cigars after beating Tennessee. But even when Tennessee was on its 7-game win streak against us in the late-90s/early-00s, I personally hated Auburn more.

Tennessee will never be a power again . They might have an occasional 9 win season. Maybe a ten win season once in awhile . There isn’t enough division 1 talent in that state . The Gumps might run off thirty in a row before Tennessee wins again. The Vols are the Nebraska cornhuskers of the sec . Read all about how great they were in the history books because they won’t be there again

Makes sense. Tennessee was arguably the most accomplished SEC program before Bryant I believe, and they had a slight lead in the head to head series

Is the snottiness of LSU fans based on 1 good year or is this their norm and just missed it due to limited exposure?

Well I disagree with that guy, but LSU is the winningest SEC program this century so you're not very bright either

Football has changed. When Tennessee was good they recruited nationally because there wasn’t enough division 1 talent in Tennessee . Nebraska was the same way . Back in their hey day , Nebraska recruited Texas heavily and even stole players from Louisiana. . Now ... a kid doesn’t have to go to Nebraska to play on tv. Same thing with Tennessee ... every body is on tv. What high school kid alive today even remembers Tennessee being worth a crap . And every year it gets further away from 1998. I wish I was wrong. I hate Alabama. I want y’all to win. But while my heart pulls for y’all to beat the gumps , the truth is it will probably be a long time before that happens again
