He came to UT and tried to win playing small ball which will get your arse beat in the SEC. He's tried to adjust and we have scored more runs but the pitching has been suspect and the bullpen damn right awful.

They also lost 2 of their best players early in the season. He has recruited some good talent but several have bypassed college for the pros. He's had several local talent he hasn't given the time of day to that could have helped the program. He's been more interested trying to get kids from the West Coast when the state of Tennessee has some pretty damn good baseball talent. This is the last year of his contract....he's either gone or he needs a 4-5 year extension or it will get worse

Not with no hitting and bad pitching you didn't.

If you are going to try and win 2 run games you better have damn good pitching.

How sad is it that tRant has resorted to talking trash to the VOLS about beisbol?

Eh I wouldn't say y'all played small ball like west coast small ball. Y'all had plenty of guys that could rake. You also won because you had a deep pitching staff built for postseason play

Yeah that's a problem he (and Delmonico) had, they recruit too many players who have no intention of going to college. It's not a luck thing, it's more a managing your offers thing

That's fair. I was looking at it as small ball vs power ball strictly.

We definitely got by with clutch small ball, but Greiner, JBJ and Merrifield could go yard any at bat.

Shout out to Merrifield who got called up the other day.

His first at bat was a fly out to JBJ

This is mostly your fault.

Every year, UT comes out and wins a few non-conference games early. You come out pounding your chest.

No one should care about UT baseball. You make them happy when UT fails.
