Most people realize Bama has great tradition but where would they be if anyone else but Saban was the coach.? See 2003-2006. Good just because they are Bama but not dominant like they are with nick. He is the shiz and Bama fans need to realize that and it's not because of tradition. Enjoy the ride and quit acting like its anything more than aa great coach at an sec school where football is all they care about.

1. He had to kind of build his reputation at LSU. When he came to Alabama, he already had the reputation and clout and had immediate dramatic success in recruiting (thanks in large part to his LSU success).

2. He's become a better coach with experience.

3. Alabama football is more of a brand name than LSU football so it helps any coach that coaches there. Just the facts.

All of this.

Better of everything you said except school. Kind of goes without saying. I still dont think he's a whole lot different. Though I'm glad he stopped dropping a game to some shite team once a year like he did at LSU and a little at Alabama.

The same reason he was better at LSU than Michigan State, I suppose.

That 6-7 record in 2006 suggests otherwise. Did you not watch the Shula years? He had one decent season where the breaks bounced his way until the last two games of the regular season. Outside of that the teams were terrible and his recruiting was pathetic.

So Miles won with Saban's players in 2007.

When Saban won in 2008 & 2009, it was somehow with Shula's pathetic players?

Makes total logical sense.

Saban needed to start off his stint at bama doing well--remember he scheduled early season games with good teams for TV exposure, to his fortune bama responded well. This increased his ability to recruit to a whole different level--big achievement considering bama always recruited pretty good.

The only question out their for saban is--does he stay at one place very long? Also, even with great recruiting he struggles to beat les. No doubt bama is riding high right now.

Does he stay at one place very long? No. IMO Longhorns coach next year.

Also, he strugggggggggles to beat Les. 3-3 is awful, and I will be glad to see him go. To hell with 1/9.

The Bama Payola Team is better, it's that simple. Louisiana has the best H.S. football of the 2 states. Now Nick is a better coach than Les. He evaluates talent better as well.

I think having the REC do the "work" has made life alot easier on him to get the recruits he wants.

This!

As long as the REC is open for operation, Saban and 'Bama will continue to dominate!

But IF their mission is somehow compromised by the likes of ITAT or Blue Tuna Tiger, Texas will be calling and Alabama will be FUUUUUUUUUUCKED!!!

late entry.........

Saban was an unknown and had little experience when he came to LSU. The experience he gained from LSU and the crash at Miami made him a better coach.

It was more wisdom.......

Leave it to the Gumps to claim credit for something done in Louisiana. Saban learned form his mistakes in Michigan, here and in Miami. Alabama is the latest stop on the train.

Most likely influenced by daily televised blowjobs that Saban receives on ESPN....
