10 points is not "wide open"... you should know as well as anyone that LSU under Lester does not put his foot on the gas with a lead, he plays it safe until the opposing team climbs back in the game.

And yet few have capitalized on it. . .

That's just not a true statement at all.

I am not arguing that point, but to use the term "blow the game wide open" under a Lester lead LSU offense does not happen very often against decent teams.

Are you assuming LSU's issues cannot be fixed?

Then if talent at AU is on par with LSU you should have no excuse for playing an FCS opponent into OT AT HOME. Why did that happen?

He gets a lead then he bleeds the clock.

Miles logic: Fewer drives, fewer scoring opportunities, fewer scores. Of course, it's not sound strategy when your DC allowed teams to drive the length of the field in under a minute. Jury is out on how the strategy will fare now.

The longest SEC losing streak outside of Nashville?

No one has produced a single factual argument that supports Auburn not being improved.

Well, they got outgained on a neutral site against a Louisville team with 5 FR playing on O. That same Louisville team returned only 4 starters on D and, pretty much, kept the AU O in check.

Then they played an FCS school AT HOME and gave up over 400 yards (while being out-gained) and needed a dumb JSU penalty and a shank punt to have conditions favorable enough to take advantage of and force that FCS schoool to OT, where the #6 team in the country pulled out the victory in front of their home crowd.

Those are things that supports them not being improved over last year's team. I think AU will get it figured out, but after 2 weeks they aren't as good as they were last year.

One turnover against a team like LSU can break the game wide open.

they are bad, but their issues can be fixed. In the same way they've done it the last 5 years.

Fire Gus after next year, bring in someone else to win them an SEC title, then fire him a few years later.

Or keep a coach that hasn't won anything in 10 years....

That has nothing to do with my reply.

Talent rich teams sometimes struggle with inferior opponents. It's part of football.

See Ole Miss scoring 1 billion points versus two cupcake teams. Also see aTm destroying Ball State in the first half last week.

The #6 team in the nation should never have a game against an FCS opponent go to OT.

And have huge issues. Can they be fixed? Yes Can they be fixed before they travel to one of the most hostile environments in the conference? IDK

I like how you keep posting this but want to ignore the additions of Fields, JHC, and Wiggins.

They have looked bad. Two things working against Auburn.

1) The O has no identity. For the last 6 years we at least could rely on a decent offensive day save 2012 and the neutered O in 2011 after MSU. Looking at the parts one could suggest we have what it takes, but it hasn't been seen as of yet.

2) There was a lot of hope in the potential of the D, but injuries are killing it. We had 5 starters out of the game by halftime against JSU. A 6th and 7th starter missed several minutes in the 2nd half. In OT we had 5 true freshman on the field at once. If everyone is healthy that could change quickly. We expect to get several back, but injuries are injuries and until you see people at full speed we won't know.

I knew Aggy sucked off Bama, but it appears they like to open up for Auburn too. That's cute.

I expect them to be much better once they bench Johnson and the White kid gets a game or two under his belt. But it looks like they're starting Johnson Sat. The chances of him reaching the 4th against LSU's DBs are looking pretty slim.
