Don't want to compete with NFL playoffs

So they don't offend the Latter Day Saints

So the games doesn't get crushed by the nfl playoffs.

Heck, wouldn't even have to be the playoffs.
Without getting into a ratings debate, I'm guessing a regular season MNF matchup will compete with tonights game in terms of ratings.
Saints-Falcons game ratings were crazy.

Yup. Or one of those eagles/cowboys type Sunday night games.

I remember in 02 (well, technically 03, but 02 season), it was Friday, January 3rd.

The BCS title game was actually played on a Sunday when LSU played Oklahoma for the title back in '03/04. I consider that one of the worst moves ever because the game was completely overshadowed by the NFL playoff games earlier that day.
