Is there an opponent that Bama doesn't have a winning record against that they face fairly regularly? Curious, because I know LSU and AU don't and I'm guessing the rest of the West division doesn't as well. Maybe Florida?
No; Alabama owns a winning record against every SEC team. The team closest to us in winning % is Auburn; the team that requires the fewest wins to catch up is Texas A&M (2). Aside from them, it would be Arkansas & South Carolina (6). The SEC team needing the most wins to catch up is Mississippi State (58).

We can cherry pick time frames all day but the days of a 10 game lead are over. It got down in to the single digits and will continue to shrink.

Or it won't continue to shrink and we put more ground between us.

Because they are.
There aren't fifteen football programs in America that you can say have historically been better than Auburn.
Just because our football program's history falls short of Alabama's, doesn't make our university a "little brother" to anyone. It's nonsense.

Agree. Can we get the season started please?

Agreed.

"I don't anyone disagrees with this"
Sure, people not intimately familiar with Alabama and Auburn's respective histories might not disagree but anyone that looked at each schools run from the mid 20s to late 40s would.
Alabama went to 6 Rose Bowls going 4-1-1 between 1925 and 1946. How many times had Auburun played in the Rose Bowl prior to last January?

AU is a very good program. They get called "lil bro" b/c they are in the same state with a program that is historically better using any football metric.
You're right, 18 straight years of probation will never be matched by AU.

It's quite relevant when an argument has been made that Alabama is lucky they didn't have to play Auburn during this period.

Yet you guys set the bar so high on corruption and the number of major violation conviction cases we still haven't been able to reach your SEC lead in probations.

I agree with this completely. This is a conversation about football - not the university as a whole. AU's campus is beautiful and the people are mostly cool. I just don't pull for the football team against my own.
I think of AU like a sibling rivalry though. I want to beat AU and tease them, but not cool if someone else does it.

Now it all makes so much sense.

The NCAA praised Alabama for its thorough internal investigation and yet stung the school in its report, calling it a "serial repeat offender," saying its infractions track record was "abysmal" and suggesting that its "appalling and unprecedented" recent infractions history was "unmatched by any other member institution in the NCAA."
You have 6 probations to AU's 7, but you hold the title in major violations.
