Thats a load of bull shite. They're no where near talented enough to win a championship.

You're sniffing the truth with this statement. Auburn has had a top 10 class for the last few years. The main difference between Auburn and programs like Bama and LSU is the coaching staffs of Bama and LSU can actually coach the players. Auburn has proven they cannot do the same. Hell, if Bert had Auburns recruits, he would be challenging every year for the west title.

Why? Because they are 1-3 against SEC opponents with an OT win against a non D1 football program. They are also 1-6 against their last 7 SEC opponents.

They have improved at one position and that's QB. WR's are straight shite and that's after 3 years of coaching by the supposed offensive genius Gustav.

Yeah, White looks pretty good. He's very accurate. But they dont have any receivers who can catch the ball. Gus ran off one of their best young WRs back in the spring. Guy was MVP of their spring game. They could sure use him now.

I think Kerryon Johnson might be the best player on the team right now. Gus will probably continue to use him out of the "wildcat" moving forward.

I agree on all of your points. player development is just as important, and some players just don't pan out the way rankings think as well. Auburn has a talent deficiency on defense and I think most of those guys were ranked highly. Ohio St hasn't had the highest rated recruiting ranking like bama 4 years in a row but most consider them the most talented team. sometimes rankings matter, sometimes they dont, but I feel they are definitely a good indicator. auburn either has poor evaluation skills or suck at development. might be a combination of the two.

If there was ever a game to sleep through, this would be it. Auburn has no chance of making that game even the least bit competitive. I don't know what the line will be going into the game, but I predict Alabama wins that game by more than 20.

It's both.

Honestly think they beat Ole Miss this weekend.

I do too. I think it would be foolish to overlook them now. They have a legit qb probably on par with Tyler Wilson in level of toughness. That bama game will be closer than most think.

AU got too much preseason love but nobody would've guessed our QB situation was going to be THAT bad if they'd watched JJ play last year.

I tried to tell Auburn about JJ. Nobody wanted to hear it over the summer. He plays just like he did while in HS. Hasn't changed a bit since his soph year at Carver.

my brother told me before the season he didn't buy the auburn hype at all. he was right in most of his assesments about them. I'll take his word more often now.

Its also possible that Auburn wins against Ole Miss, aTm, UGA and Bama. So there's that

I can easily see 2-2. 3-1 is a slight reach. Going 4-0 against that slate would mean Gus worked a miracle and should get a raise.

It goes back further than that.

1992 Pat Dye "resigns."
1993 Terry Bowden's first year, AU goes 11-0
1994 Starts off 9-0 (beat #1 Florda), end up tying THUGA and losing to bammer. 9-1-1.
1995 meh
1996 meh
1997 SECw champs. Lose to Peyton Manning in SECCG.
1998 Dumpster fire. Bowden is fired.

1999 Tubs hired. average season
2000 Improvement
2001 7-5
2002 Tubs has most of his own guys now. A respectable 9-4 with wins over 3 top 10 teams (LSU, bammer, Penn St.).

2003 Tons of pre-season hype. People expected SEC champs and possible BCS title. Start the season vs. USC with Pete Carrol. Since the game was at JHS, everyone thinks AU has it. Nope, USC stomps us 23-0. Finish 8-5.

2004: AU goes 13-0 and should have won the MNC. USC ends up winning it (and then forfeiting it later cuz they paid Reggie Bush).

2005: 9-3
2006: 11-2
2007: 9-4 (with a loss to South Florida at home)
2008: Tubs decides to abandon the pro-style offense and hired a high-school spread offense guru (Tony Franklin). None of the other assistants liked him, Franklin had melt downs in the locker room, some say he and other coaches got into fist fights. Team fell apart. Dumpster fire. Tubs fired.

2009: Chizik and Malzahn hired. Decent season.
2010: National champs
2011: 8-5
2012: Dumpster fire. Chiz fired

2013: Malzahn hired. SEC champs/BCS title game (loss)
2014: 8-5
2015: ????

Basic pattern here is new coach is hired. He either kills it his first or second season (often undefeated). Then has a decent season or two after that, then a dumpster fire. Rinse and repeat.

I don't think AU is as bad as most posters here think.

They are last in total defense and they're giving up the most point per game in the conference ... Teams are rushing for 200 yards a game against Muschamp's D... And they haven't played OM, Bama , UGA or aTm yet... All those offenses rank in the top half of the conference in scoring.

Let that sink in

By year three you can start to judge a coach on what he can do running a program. It takes much more that a great offensive mind to run a program I suspect.
The Auburn boosters recruit off of star rankings. ALL in, family, stars that are not panning out.

Dabo is stealing a lot of Atlanta / Georgia recruits that typically would have gone to Auburn.
