No.

It was a really bad break we didn't get an extra scrimmage before our schedule got harder. We survived, but we reallllllly needed that game at that point.

There is no logical argument otherwise. We weren't going to be tired from playing our starters for a half in the first game of the season.

How many more yards would Fournette have had we been able to play the McNeese State game?

What? Who cares? He could have tweaked a knee and yall might have lost to MSU. Like I mentioned, I can see both sides to the first game thing.

Hmm lets look at 2013. LSU is supposed to make a return trip to Columbia and Bama is supposed to be playing a tough Georgia team. Guess who played in Athens?

Disagree, but it doesn't matter that much to me. Whenever you trot out guys to play a game, there is risk. At this point, do you wish you'd played McNeese? Of course not, because you know how it shook out.

The funny thing about this thread is the exact opposite is true. Wasn't it like 11 games in 10 weeks in 2005, or something like that?

Absolutely no benefit to missing that game. McNeese is an ideal opponent to open the season with; they are a well-coached team, one of the better FCS opponents. They probably could beat Eastern Michigan 40-50% of the time, based on execution (note how they've performed against BCS teams).

LSU would have been able to work on schemes and various parts of the passing game, while always being safely able to pull away due to the physical mismatches at the running game.
It's like taking mock/practice tests before the MCAT or GRE; LSU and Harris in particular lost their practice game.

I wouldn't call a couple dozen deaths and what's going to be millions and millions in damage a break exactly.

Yeah, this is a terrible and tragic disaster, and LSU happens to be Carolina's opponent.

We LSU fans need to not mock, taunt, or respond to angry/emotional SCAR fans right now. In reality, this game is meaningless on a practical level to the lives and situations of tons of people in Columbia and the surrounding areas. In a vacuum, I could understand the escapist release it would provide, but being an LSU fan, forgive me for not wanting my team to lose this Saturday.

Our prayers are with you guys . It will be better soon, so just hold on.

The best team in the East is Florida. I'm pretty positive we actually play them every year. Are you fricking retarded friend?

you have been on fire today. Maybe you should worry about the terrible circumstances, the people of South Carolina and focus less on LSU.

The only valid argument against that is potential injuries. No one practices like they play and injuries happen in games often, flukes or not
