3-5 in conf. 6-6 going into the bowl game. I understand losing your starting QB game 1 but does that excuse the meltdown of the team as the whole?

People bring this up all the time, how is he getting a pass? It has more to do with his body of work as a whole than one season in regards to how he is viewed.

5-6, he didn’t stay for the last game.

They would have won that game without a coaching staff

I think the better question is what would've happened had Francois not gotten hurt.

When we played them, they were a formidable opponent - certainly better than Clemson. I think they were a playoff team before they unraveled

If by “get a pass” you mean “is the only data point LSU fans want to discuss,” well, I really don’t know.

First of all, he hasn't really gotten a pass. It gets mentioned every time someone talks about him on here.

But yes the Francois injury was a huge deal, not only because he's a good player, but also because it forced them to go with a true freshman who clearly wasn't ready. Add in the fact that the entire offense was young and they also had some OL injury issues and you get the terrible offense. The defense was above average, but not good enough to make up for the offensive deficiencies.

The only real terrible game was the BC game, not sure what happened there. But losses to Clemson and Alabama were expected, and the other 3 losses were all one score games.

Will this anomaly cause LSU fans to feel better or worse about Jimbo’s dominance over the swamp kittens over the next ten years?

Maybe he wanted to pass on LSU because they don't have money.

We'll all hear "wait until next year" for a few years until they throw their money at the next coach.

Then repeat.

FSU played very well that game, their downfall was the turnovers.

Alabama won the turnover margin +3, the rest of the game was practically even. Bama ran the ball well and FSU passed the ball well.

How is he getting a pass? LSU fans bring it up on this board literally every single day.

Don't say that. It'll crush the poor LSU fans. Jimbo going 5-6 is pretty much all they have to live for.
