I'm guilty as well. I live in North Louisiana, so I followed him while he was at La Tech. Obviously, me being an old timer, I followed his dad. I liked that guy too, for whatever reason (seriously, on his dad, it may be because he has one of the best southern accents of all time). But, I digress. Why do we all like this guy so much? He's not shown himself to be that incredible of a coach. Is it because he got a law degree, worked in a powerful Washington firm, but chose to coach instead? Just curious, especially on what the UT folks think.

It's his hair.

And to say everyone likes him is really, really stretching things, especially among Tennessee fans.

I like him as a person. He is funny, has some witty one-liners, and he has great hair and fashion sense.

However, I am not sold on him as a coach. I do not think it is fair to judge him on past years, because of the shite roster and such, but he better produce this year.

This year will tell me all I need to know about Dooley.

And his hair was perfect

I don't remember that being a hissy fit. I remember it him being upset, saying something like "I've got to watch the film/see what happened". In fact, I thought he handled it pretty well, seeing as his first signature win was just ripped from him because of a boneheaded penalty that did not affect the play.

Because he looks like a cartoon character.

I agree. He was devastated. He and Miles are cool now anyway, so it's all good.

He's a coaches coach.

He wants to go left..no wait, he wants to fake going left, and then goes right. Wait, he thinks about faking...I'm lost. I need some water.

You'd be pissed if that happened to you, too.

so you don't remember him throwing his headset and storming off the field without shaking Miles' hand after the game? Miles had to chase him down.

No, I don't remember that part. I just remember his press conference. I may have overlooked it since I like the dude. Seriously.
