Why does college soccer settle for ties in the regular season

LSU women soccer has 5 ties overall with 3 being in the SEC.
Why not have a penalty shootout to decide these matches?

As someone who has to travel internationally a lot....frick soccer. I will never in my freaking life understand the rest of the world's passion for that shitty boring arse overrated sport.

They look at us watching commercials for 4 hours sprinkled with dudes in pads running into each other and ask the same thing.

Yeah i have heard a lot of their opinions but strongly disagree. It's just a feminine sport in general imo.
I can never watch grown men running around kicking a ball and be interested. Gayest sport ever. Absolutely nothing exciting nor interesting about it.
If you look at all the players, a lot them have a metro sexual look going on. Especially the European based squads.
Rugby is a real sport at least. I'm not a fan but i can understand rugby fans more at least.

OT and PK shootouts add an extra hour to games. That’s why they are only used in a tournament setting

The commercials are out of hand. I used to watch college football all day Saturday. I just can't do it anymore.

Not sure how soccer counts them in the standings but NHL has them but at least both teams get a point for it (a win btw is two).
Honestly though, I don't see why both sports can't come up with a way to continue shoot-offs until there's a clear winner. Not hard and hell, it's good practice.

I don't think you really understand soccer until you play some pickup. It's fun as hell.

Or go to the UK and join in a pickup game there. People of *all* ages play it. I enjoy it but honestly, I hate the flopping stuff. It's moved into basketball and football
