Last year's Arkansas started out really bad, and they pulled it together in the second half of the season, winning at Ole Miss and at LSU in consecutive weeks and winning six of their final seven.

I can't ignore the body blow theory on LSU, though. Bama ran more effectively—and more often—against LSU than anyone before, so that was the most brutal Saturday for LSU's defense to date. Hence, Arkansas' 31 points were the most scored against LSU to date.

Arkansas is a trap game, simple as that.

Wild hogs are pretty smart. Once they recognize something as a trap, they won't walk into it knowing that it's a trap.
How long will it take a tiger to recognize a trap?

I read in the other thread on the Rant from an LSU fan that the LSU football team doesn't care about winning the football games against Arkansas. So, maybe that's the reason.

When the fans care more about getting a win than do the players . . . wow . . . that is a problem.

We'll see what the future holds!

30 best years in Arkansas football, with LSU denying Arkansas a probable national championship in '65.

That happened way before my time, but, the older Hog fans that lived through that came probably have never forgiven LSU for ruining that season for the Hogs. It's only natural that they would. LSU really did ruin a National Championship season for Arkansas back in the 60s.

So, yeah, it's easy to see why most of the state of Arkansas gets fired up to play LSU.

It's an awful shame that the Hogs no longer play Texas because that was a GREAT rivalry game. LOTS of fired up Hog fans for that game every year. I always enjoyed watching Texas v. Arkansas.

Bert is a better coach than Miles.

You guys should have fired miles when you had the chance

However it does not mean the team that year is better. Example Texas Tech beat Arkansas, LSU easily beat Texas Tech.

Arkansas beat Ole Miss this year and Ole Miss beat BAMA this year but this does not make Arkansas better than BAMA or Ole Miss

there is some truth to this, however you cant remove the factor of coaching, development of the players to go from losing to TT and Toledo to going on a run in the very difficult SEC. Once the new OC gelled with the team, Once the injuries (that also must be considered) settle down, what is left is the talent still available (LSU should always have higher rated players until miles is figured out) and Coaching.

CBB and staff > CLM and staff.... Amiright?

It has nothing to do with Arkansas but more about being deflated after a Bama loss

Don't get your panties all rustled up. If LSU football can't beat Arky after losing to Bama, wouldn't it be better to forfeit the Bama game and beat Arky? That would only be one loss instead of two losses.

Then forfeit the game to Alabama, rest your players and go beat Arky instead of letting Bama beat you twice. One loss is better than two losses.

What about 07? Y'all lost to Houston Nutt at home and it knocked y'all out of the BCS title game at the time.

I forgot about 2010 as well. Y'all lost out on a Sugar Bowl appearance.

It's a combination of the points in this thread. If the SEC title is out of the picture, the team is not as motivated. At the same time Ark is the next best suited to stop LSU run game after Alabama. So you get a sputtering LSU offense and a less motivated LSU defense who is on the field too long and tires out. This equals an Arkansas blowout victory.

okay...so what do you blame the blowout loss to Ole Miss on? Surely it cant be that the Rebels are simply the better team.
