Huge buyout, so he's not going anywhere. I was "optimistic" about Chizik too.

i think there's a lot of nimrods that don't understand being optimistic does not mean one is claiming it's destiny. thus the 'delusional' (for those of you who actually spell it correctly) comments don't really fit but i don't expect most of the posters on this site to actually understand common english words and their meanings.

Did you watch ANY of our games other than Auburn? We almost lost to Samford early in the season and then the last 2 games we took MSU to OT and we were one blown coverage away from beating LSU. Come on man.

Still doesn't change the fact that you were 3-8.

The irony

I'd never nominate A&M for the title of "most rational", but I stand by what I said: among a group of delusional fanbases, y'all are the most delusional by far.

If we put it to a Rant-wide vote, y'all would take the National Championship of Delusion by a wide margin.

A&M may win strangest, most annoying, least hetero, what have you, but there is no contest with Arkansas when it comes to holding a belief in imminent success with strong conviction despite superior evidence to the contrary; y'all win that one walking away.

Incidentally, Alabama is 4-2 during the same time period against Arkansas with their two losses coming during the same seasons Arkansas lost to Auburn.

Wait....what? Bama hasn't lost to y'all since Saban arrived, or are you trying to say that bama is 4-2 against auburn since Nutt left? And only lost in the years that auburn won the sec? Are you really stretching this argument to say arkansas is no less than bama? By that argument lsu is tGOAT since lsu is 5-1 in that stretch against auburn.

Also arky fans amaze me with their trolling abilities when it comes to stretching a statistic and then their jimmies are rustled when the troll is thrown back in their face.

Bama/Saban owns our arse right now but playing Ole Miss has been tougher on us than Auburn in recent history.

In the era you had the best coach that will ever happen to Arky and Auburn had it's worst

11. As opposed to what? Pessimism? One can be a homer with eyes wide open.

. We have a running game and we had receivers open and receivers that dropped the ball numerous times this past year. Offense won't be a problem

you just listed problems
quote:

6. bert comes from a better conference than a lot of other successful SEC coaches. The B1G is certainly better than the Sun Belt/Malzahn-Freeze, CUSA/Summit, Big 12/Muschamp-Les Miles, Mid-American/Pinkel, and Big East/Butch Jones

big 12> big 10
quote:

8. Wisky is a shitty place to try and recruit to and bert did pretty good there. Making it to 3 rose bowls with that talent. Arkansas has better facilities than wisky and most of the SEC. Which will do nothing but help his recruiting efforts

helps when OSU is sanctioned, and Michigan sucks.also lost all 3

10. He's got a hot wife and he's fat. If that doesn't say good recruiter I don't know what does

it says he has money. so i guess you actually do have a point there.

1. bert is building the team from the lines out
Yea, good start...the only thing about that is, SEC teams already do that. And Auburn, Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Florida, Tennessee, and South Carolina typically recruit better than Arkansas...
quote:

2. bert is good at hiring assistants
Yea, agreed, but they never stay...
quote:

3. bert is having success recruiting despite going 3-9 his first year. Currently #12 in the 2015 recruiting rankings
Give it time. They will drop.
quote:

4. We have a running game and we had receivers open and receivers that dropped the ball numerous times this past year. Offense won't be a problem
Uhhh, wait... Arkansas scored 20.7 points per game last year, which was good for 107th in the nation...
quote:

5. bert has proven to be able to build a solid defense, with high ranking wisky defenses during his time there
That conference is a little bit different.

6. bert comes from a better conference than a lot of other successful SEC coaches. The B1G is certainly better than the Sun Belt/Malzahn-Freeze, CUSA/Summit, Big 12/Muschamp-Les Miles, Mid-American/Pinkel, and Big East/Butch Jones
While true, all of the other coaches listed have been successful in the SEC...except for Butch Jones. And even he is off to a better start with Tennessee than Bret Bielema is with Arkansas.
quote:

7. Houston fricking Nutt had success running a similar style at Arkansas.
Lord help Bret Bielema is he can't mirror Houston Nutt's success.

Making it to 3 rose bowls with that talent
3 losses.

In conclusion, well...you get the point.
