I think it's a bit early to charcterize this as Bama's decline...yeah, there's a bunch of new people on Defense, and no consensus QB, but we're still loaded with talent and we've got two wins. I'll call it a decline only if we lose two of the upcoming games with LSU, Ole Miss, Auburn, and Texas A&M. Till then, I'm optimistic.

I think bama is still looking for their identity with this new offense...they have more talent in backups than most have as starters... If they ever get the leadership on the field that they need they'll be a lot like their championship teams. They still only lose 2 regular season games this year which is extremely good for such a young team

I think it has to do with the fact that Alabama's offense doesn't seem quite as potent or deep this year and their defense has fewer star players than in the past. They also face stiff competition in their division while rival Tennessee appears to be on the climb (still not great, but better than they've been in a while).

To answer the question, 2-2 the last 4 games, unproven QB, defense hasn't settled a few positions, West looks as tough as ever.....

It is possible to decline because those teams around you elevate themselves. I'm OK with all of this because I think Bama will be fine.

I'll play for a little while, I suppose.

I guess that depends on how one defines "decline." If you mean we aren't winning national championships every year or every other year, I guess that would be a fair statement.

That being said, I don't think Alabama is any more on the decline than I think LSU is. Alabama has been winning ten or more games each year for a while lately. If that's a decline, then I'd wager that the vast majority of major Division 1 schools would love to join us in that decline.

The question is stupid. That's why I didn't answer it to begin with.

All that said, my original statement stands. Rival fans would love for Alabama to be on the decline. Wishes, horses, etc.

It's going to be beautiful when Alabama beats all your teams....the tears will be so delicious.

I mean, the whole thing is fricking dumb. Alabama is familiar with declines. We were in 'the decline' from 1993 until 2006 because we cheated and then hired coaches who were dumb.

LSU is familiar with declines. They spent a the better part of twenty years during the 80s and 90s in a fricking decline.

Texas A&M is familiar with declines. The majority of their (modern) history is one big-arse decline, interspersed with bouts of SWC-era cheating.

I'd go on, but seriously. Why bother? People know what a decline is, they just choose to ignore it.

Sad but true for the most part. Though there were a few years with RC that brought us up for a bit.

This is why we can recognize #TheDecline when we see it.

There is no decline, and no one actually thinks there is one.

They're just saying it on here because people bite. It's just trolling, and they're not quite bright enough to do it outside of a football forum.
