Tennessee gets a bad reputation for being "white trash". It mostly comes from a few instances of their T-shirt fans getting out of control.

I actually went to school with Steve in junior high (middle school) back in the days...we had classes together...saw him all the time at pool halls where he shot pretty decent (so did I) and hustled some. We all grew up playing snooker then 9 ball. Could share some stuff but not important....he was QB as senior in high school and threw the worse pass you can imagine. Back to the subject at hand...didnt hate UT at all growing up....my hatred was all UGA even during the Spurrier playing days and coaching days...until UT just got crazy firing Fulmer and hiring pretty boy Lane (who married the daughter of ex UF QB). Then it was pants right out of the circus for Dooley etc etc.

We have beating UT like a rented mule for some time but folks like Shaft, Serraneaux, Rocky Top and Phat Phil just stoke the fire. The Fulmer curse will strike you again and again.

For me, it was Albert Haynesworth. Piece of shite, which everyone got to see as his career went on, trashed South Carolina the school and his home state while he was being recruited. Then after a game in Columbia, went to the student section and waved a Tennessee flag just to taunt everyone. Classless thug. Then guy going low and wrecking Lattimore's career didn't help either.
