Why do people say they are leaving the board and keep coming back?

I wouldn't call out anyone by name, but is just KILLZ me when someone says they are leaving and just keeps on trolling. I guess when someone says they are leaving I want them to SHOW ME they are serious. I know it's tough in here, and can be a mizZOU at times, but I just hate when someone gets everyone's hopes up and then renegs.

my spouse tells me the same thing often. But there she is showing back up on the doorstep.
