It's always strange to jump inn a thread, and end up getting immediately fluffed.

Both Ms schools are better than Tn at the moment as well -- see recent history.

The thing that killed the East was that now all schools get televised, that was Tennessee's only real advantage. Aside from Urban Cryer, florida is laughable, and Georgia consistently underperforms.

You're living in the past. OM got shellacked by the same team that needed a last second pass to beat Tennessee by 1 pt. UT would've given both Mississippi schools all they could handle last season.

The television thing is just laughable.

If they played right now UT would beat Moo State by 14-21 points. UT vs OM would be a close one. We'd likely win cuz TAOM

The west has won 13 of the 23 SECCG and 7 of the last 8. You tell me why

I'll give you 7 of the last 8. That's recent history. But if you're going to go back over the entire history of interdivisional play, 13 out of 23 is just over half. Not especially impressive. More impressive: if you count backwards using your numbers, that would mean 8 years ago, the West had only won 6 of 15, which is considerably more impressive and favors the East. Might just want to stick with recent history.

(And on a related tangent, the variety is even. Three different programs from the West -- Bama, Auburn, LSU -- have won the SECCG; three programs from the East -- Florida, Tennessee, Georgia -- have won the SECCG.)

Edit: Since I stupidly just went with your numbers, I did the math. 1992-2015 would be 24 SECCGs, not 23.

OM has taken a step forward that has coincided with Vandy taking a huge step back and if it lasts that series will never be even again.

I'm not so certain things will last. The Mississippi schools have had a decent run lately, but it's way too soon to declare that it has staying power. Remember, South Carolina was a pretty good program for a couple years there too. So there's a realistic chance the series could become more balanced again soon enough.

Right now, post Dak, it would be a 21 point game by half time. If Butch doesn't call off the dogs we would beat State by 30+.

It would be amazing if both lasted, especially OM which has an Icarus feel to it and even more so now that NCAA has arrived with questions. Mullen appears to have State in a slower but much more steady program building phase. It's going to be interesting to see which one or if either of them have staying power. I don't think the West can sustain both Mississippis + Ark + their traditional powers (someone has to fall down) and I don't see Aub (despite last season), Bama, or LSU relinquishing their spots to make room.

When SC was seeing their run of success both Florida and Tennessee were down and they had a coaching legend.

Didn't LSU win 35-28? That's not exactly pushing someone's shite in.

Imagine if Alabama was in the East?

True. Arkansas and Ole Miss would be winning everything in the West.

And along that note, Alabama would have won the east in 2013, and we all know Auburn would not have pulled another miracle out to beat Alabama twice in one year, so the east would be looking much like the West does now, right?

I have yet to encounter a Florida fan that remembers that UF scored on a punt return and after an LSU muffed punt inside its own 10 in that game. Do you remember that? That is how UF scored.
