I don't think they have to go outside the state if the state affords them the opportunity to play big name OOC games, which it does.

Except they've only played Miami in the regular season three times since 1991. Also FSU's been down for the last 10 years and the Gators still haven't beefed up their OOC scheduling. They have Bowling Green, UL-Lafayette, and Jacksonville State on their OOC slate this year, played Florida Atlantic, UAB, and Furman last year, and had Charleston Southern, Troy, and Florida International on their OOC schedule in 2009.

it's also really funny how teams from other conferences get all kinds of accolades for playing sec teams for their ooc games, yet sec teams don't get the same recognition for playing each other, year in and year out.

Yeah teams in the SEC's OOC schedules are overlooked because we have five other games in conference just as big.

I blame Florida. I believe they haven't played a non-conference opponent outside the state of Florida since 1991. They've been the best program in the SEC over that time but their non-conference scheduling has been embarrassing.

They play FSU every year and sometimes USF and/or Miami in addition. Florida plays a strong non con schedule every year. Why does the location of their hard non con games matter?

Sagarin Schedule rankings(2011 average)

B1G - 39.9th
SEC - 20th

God forbid we play "easy OOC games" since they hurt our SOS so badly...

killian, i appreciate your effort and research as to what ooc games sec teams have played. i would love for you to focus on how ooc teams have done against the sec in nc games. that is the ultimate test....the best against the best.

It's just frustrating to watch these guys make this point, as if it's true, and nobody contests it. Just frustrating to here the only relevant news outlet do such a poor job.

I've heard. I was just pointing out, Big Ten OOC schedules are pretty weak.

Speak for yourself. There is no "we" in this. MSU plays shitty non con schedules and the rest of the SEC does not.

I was just seeing if Huard's statement has any basis.
