Just like any form of writing, there's a certain way to communicate properly. Of course there's assholes going around posting tl;dr because they think they're funny, but there's also times when people are verbose or don't separate things out into paragraphs. They're going to get called out too because their communication isn't clear, and rightly so.
Maybe I should have made this into 2 paragraphs, but that wouldn't change the length. Was my communication unclear? No one really responded to anything I typed.

Not sure if you were intending on making a thread to get the "to;dr" but here's an upvote.

We now live in a society of hashtags and 132 characters or less. It lends itself to smarmy snarky communication.
It also speaks to the dumbing-down of our society.

Also, long post are mostly long winded rants that could be summarized into a few concise sentences.
If one condenses or summarizes material, then they'll just have elaborate later. Why make several posts to expand upon your point when you can just make one and counter rebuttals?

Lastly, this a message board and not an amateur sports journalism forum.
Upvoted. Just because this a message board doesn't mean that we can't handle ourselves civilly and intellectually. I appreciate your response and the one before it.

The whole pensive Bama fan thing is pretty creative and most people won't know how to respond because they're not used to Bama fans who write in complete sentences.
For real, at least you know how to squeeze two to four sentences into one.

Shouldn't rants be the main focus? This place typically resembles children on a playground, females gossiping, and immaturity in general.

Upvoted for the truth. For what it's worth, I'm 20 and don't engage in such practices. I abandoned Facebook and Twitter years ago.

I have ticket stubs older than you.

Fair enough, but isn't the point of a post to encourage discussion? There is an art to presenting information without revealing everything you know. This guides other people into asking questions, and it allows you to seem more knowledgeable by answering them.
While I agree that the lack of maturity on these boards can be tiring, the culture of shaming with TL:dr is often used to self police the board. There are multiple topics on the board, and not all of them are worth reading. Saying TL:DR is a way of letting someone know that they need to find a better way to hook you in their post.

1. Your Subject title is the perfect example of "why".
2. It's wordy, rambling and when you consider the Message, poorly thought out. When you read the first sentence and the last sentence with a quick scan, it's obvious. Your command of the English language is lacking. Work on it! When I read "think about it" my response is frick you! You haven't thought about it enough.
3. Context is important. Your subject does not warrant a dissertation. For example:
"- there's an art
- to getting your point across
- to people with 3 second
- attention spans"
sums it up beautifully, succinctly and puts a smile on my face.
Thank you LSU1NSEC.

Why does one poster bitch about so many other posters bitching about posters with lengthy posts?
