It has been over the past few seasons and that will probably continue this season, but the East is on the rise while the west looks to be in a slight decline

One of those 5 road games is Alabama. Doesn't really matter where it's played.
Two other of those 5 are Mississippi State and Ole Miss. If it matters where those are played, we won't be within sniffing distance of the SEC West.
You could change all three of those games to home games and our SEC record would be the same, if we're anything remotely close to a contender, that is.
If we don't win the West, it'll be because we aren't good enough. Playing five road games won't be the reason.

There is a much better chance that Etling will have a modest season than there is that Shidham will be the next QB phenomenon.

We're probably going to lose to Florida instead of very likely beating them if the game were at home. That is the difference in that 5th road game. We're probably going to lose a game out of the division, which Alabama and Auburn probably won't do.
