Cool, people pay attention and travel to lots of sports these days. I don't think I brought up crowd sizes, anyway.

You couldn't pay me to watch a track meet.

Then again, I've met only 3 people who have actually went to a gymnastics meet, yet we have been among the best in the nation in attendance.

Football, basketball, and baseball are the only college sports I follow heavily. If we had an on campus hockey arena, I'd definitely support that, but that's about it.

The softball world series has 8,500 per their website. Our stadium seats 4,000.

Same. I support them and hope they win, but just not my thing. I would go to a softball game before the other non-big 3 though.

All of the older women at my intern company in college went to gym meets. They loved them, had season tickets.

Because they don't win much . I can't remember the last time they won something that most of us would be excited about.
they dont have a single SEC Championship in the big three this century. Winning a game IS big to them.

I'll definitely get into softball.

Golf too. Behind the big 3 sports, golf is far and away my favorite sport. Had such an awesome and fortunate opportunity to meet and chat with Trey Mullinax a few years ago. Will always remember that putt to seal the 2nd consecutive championship vs OSU.

Difference in Alabama and Arkansas.

Arkansas has world class athletes who come just to run on our track. Tyson Indoor is regarded as the fastest in the world. In the mid 2000's, Arkansas had the fastest man and woman in the world, at the same time.

Tyson Invitational is one of the biggest meets of the year. In an Olympic year, there will be very big names running in the meet.

We aren't talking high school track meets here. This is international.

You must not have many friends with daughters. Lots of glitter and screaming without the pain of sitting through a boy band concert.

I mean, I wouldn't attend the Olympic Trials either. I'm not choosing not to go because we aren't elite.

Seeing a human run as fast as they run is a site to see.

Yea, I watch the golf guys anytime they are on a feed somewhere. As elite a program as the football one is.
