They forgot they they voted both into the conference.

But...., and this is a very important but. Those who post on the sRant would never have voted to let Missouri or aTm in.

Money. KC and St. Louis markets. Academics.

I like Mizzou. It is someone we can beat in football.

THEY DID PLAY THEIR BOWL GAME.

I'd vote them in along with Oklahoma. It is Texas I wouldn't have voted in. They are conference destroyers.

Bringing Oklahoma and Oklahoma State would've been a good move.

I actually enjoyed Oklahoma State as a yearly opponent in all the sports

I love Okie State fans. They are great. One year we were reanked pretty high and they beat us in Columbia. Their fans were not cocky afterwards, but wished us well the rest of the year. Class act. Unlike...oh, I don't know....arkansas, who has one winning season and believes they are something to behold.

I’m still baffled at how bad they’ve been in basketball since joining the conference. Especially while everyone else upgrades at HC. They’ve had maybe the two worst coaches in the conference since they’ve joined.

If you are really interested in how this trainwreck happened here it is:

We came in with scandal-plagued Frank Haith for the first two years. He had to go.

The older fanbase longing to relive the glory Norm Stewart Days (yeah, he sucked at Tourney time for some reason, but he had seven 25+ win seasons, a 634-333 record at MU, and led the 1993-94 Tigers to an undefeated Big 8 conference record something no other team had ever done - or ever will do as the Big 8 no longer exists, plus he was a fun salty old bastard) hired a former player and protege of Norm's who a year before won the D-II National Championship With Central Missouri State. Apparently, his style did not translate well to either recruiting or coaching at the D-I level.

Then came an opportunity for a package deal to acquire the number one recruit in the nation - Michael Porter Jr by hiring Cuonzo Martin signing him to a much too rich contract and Martin hiring Micael Porter Sr. as an assistant coach. The fan base (myself included) was overjoyed at the opportunity for a quick return to relevance. Michael's addition attracted other talented recruits and we were ready to roll. Only two problems with this. MPJ played 2 minutes and 7 seconds in the first game before having an effectively season-ending injury and Martin couldn't coach.

Now we are stuck with a big contract buyout for a guy that can neither recruit nor coach.

You'll find no arguments from any reasonable MU fan about the absolute dumpster fire that is Mizzou basketball. We're just biding time until Cuonzo is gone and we can completely clean house and start over.

NP. Have to let it out every once in awhile. OSU is still a great school. Can't say anything bad about them.

This dude nailed it. We are stuck with Conzo.

And Norm being a salty bastard, that is also true, but he knew how to coach up players.

Side note. We've won our division multiple times. We did that in a space of inside 10 years of joining.

What has Arkansas done since they joined?

Football - Division champ 4 times.

Basketball - 1 national championship, 2 final fours, 4 elite 8s, 8 sweet 16s, 2 sec tourney champs, 3 conf champs.

Baseball - 6 world series, 1 Conference tourney champ, 3 conference championship

Track - 30 national championships by the men and 6 national champs by the women.

Why Did We Bring Mizzou into the SEC?

Some accounts blame Bernie Machen (then president of UF as well as the SEC board president) for pulling a lot of strings to make it happen. SEC wanted Texas A&M and there was a discussion about who else to take. I now have forgotten what other schools were in consideration, but I think it was West Virginia, Virginia Tech(?) and a couple more. Machen grew up in St. Louis and apparently was the driving force for making the 14th team Missouri.

Sorry.

We suck now, doesn’t mean we will forever. We’ve had more football success in this conference than all of the losers talking shite itt.

We’re also a bigger university in a bigger footprint bringing in more money for the league than all the losers talking shite. Also AAU standing improves the league academically.

Drink is turning football around after slogging through the mediocrity of Arkansas’ DC being our coach.

Basketball is a disaster but Clownzo will be fired soon and we can start to rebuild.

Baseball will probably always suck but it’s not a sport that matters no matter how much y’all want to make it a thing.

Not an SEC sport, baw.

Our wrestling = sec baseball.

College baseball will never be a thing in Missouri. Royals and Cardinals own the state for that.
