You went to the Natty last year. You are undefeated this year. Yet, for whatever reason, we don't get posts about "Thank God we are good again". No, we get thread, after thread, after thread, about how "No one likes us".

Of course we don't like you. When the Rant starts liking Auburn it probably means something godawful happened to you poor buggers. You have what seems to be a really good team this year. Right now you are one of the Final Four teams. Enjoy that and stop cutting yourself and crying over the fact that the rest of the SEC doesn't like you.

Because most people thought they were a 9-3 team that got lucky last year.

They got some fortunate bounces, but this idea was always pretty stupid.

They must have been a pretty good 9-3 team, considering they beat what people believed to be the second best team (Alabama) and then lost in dramatically close fashion to what people believed was a dominant #1 (FSU) on the biggest stage possible.

Are you implying that Auburn is the best team in the SEC?

Who is? 3 teams could make the argument, so it's not as if it's a reach. AU is #4 in total offense, #3 in total D.

It is

But it doesn't make it untrue. If you win out this year, Auburn will be the best SEC team. But there is no arguement for last years luck and nothing you've done this year makes you look better than the Mississippi schools.

There was consensus preseason that Auburn would not win the SEC again, but the conclusion was not necessarily based on consensus reasoning.

Mostly scheduling. Some didn't think Auburn was the best team, but a lot of em simply thought Auburn couldn't survive its gruesome schedule.

Auburn could go undefeated and win the title and you'd still get people on here talking about the luck involved in an attempt to discredit.

At this point Ole Miss and State are more impressive. Either of them would get the nod before Auburn.

4 of 5 Auburn games ended with Auburn scoring 41 or more points and their opponents scoring 21 or less.

Average margin of victory on the year.
AU - 27.6
MSU - 23.2
Ole Miss - 25

Well, a 41-7 loss will do that to you.

Literally the only thing I've come up with is "lucky". Although, the first three games started making me think they were right. The MSU game is going to answer all the questions either way.
