Maybe he liked the idea of working two more years in Alabama then getting a pension.
Maybe you're a dipshit.
Maybe frick yourself.

It's hard to call it anything but stupid when Malzhan & Jacobs offer money like that to a guy like Steele. I'm sorry, he has done nothing in his career to warrant $1.3 million for 3 yrs.

But that is not true. Read the thread. Steele needs 5 consecutive and 10 total years to be vested in a state pension where he would collect less than 60k.

Steele won't be vested in 2 yrs...and why would he give a shite about getting fully vested just to draw $60,000 a yr from the State when Those dumbass Aubs are paying him $1.3 million a year for 3 years?

My theory is we asked him to move to a position coach. He declined. The end.

Hmm. The wrong coordinator told them FU looks like to me.

My theory is that the way Alleva handled the Miles year end debacle made the whole coaching staff edgy. They feel like Les is a dead man walking. And Steele jumped at the Aubs $1.3 million a yr offer.

Wait, are people really going with some State of Alabama retirement package as the reason Steele left for Auburn? Good lord they are creative.

Right.....cause you have have an inside perspective on the program
