Knoxville is 213 miles from Atlanta
And how many schools are closer than that? Uga, gt, Clemson, usc, Auburn, and that's just off the top of my head.

Yeah, they're not pulling anyone elite from Birmingham. 3rd best at most
And instate, how many schools are closer to Memphis and Knoxville? I'm pretty sure ole Miss, Bama, and Arky. Knoxville is a terrible location to pull recruits.

So your saying TN a blue blood would have a harder time recruiting Atlanta than perennial powerhouses Clemson, South Carolina, and Gtech?? LOL. The only school that would have a better inside shot than TN would be UGA. Fulmer dominated Atlanta when he was there. What else do you need in CFB?

Welcome to our world of devastating injuries and insufficient depth. Also, things are usually not as good or as bad as the seem at the time. Heck, considering Florida and Kentucky's remaining SEC schedule compared to Tennessee's, Tennessee could easily still win the East.
