you're probably right - it will probably end up being 6 or 8 teams.

that's terrible (at least 8 teams would be IMO) for those of us who value the regular season but that's probably what will end up happening.

I agree 100%



....but I also know pandora's box has been opened. All we can do is try to delay expansion until the generation that doesn't have any nostalgic connection to bowls or "the most exciting regular season" thingy is in charge if not sooner.

in a world of expanded playoffs, it might be seen as advantageous to forgo the conference championship, especially in a format where both participants are usually already as good as in the national championship hunt.
