Funny that the two Bama games listed, the Tide was held way below its season average in scoring, yet LSU fans now blame Chavis for those losses.

aTm will end up paying it out rather than having all of the details of this hire made public. Either he left LSU for aTm earlier than he's claiming and owes the money or he committed major recruiting violations by openly recruiting for aTm while still employed by LSU. Either way he's screwed.

As for Chavis as a coach, he was a good coach for LSU, but not quite worth the hype, to be honest. When we hired him all we heard from Tennessee fans was "Third and Chavis". They were right. And without a ball-control offense like he had at LSU that owned TOP and kept his defenses off of the field, I'm very interested to see how he does in College Station.

I expect Chavis to work wonders on the A&M defense over the next few years. He'll never have a top ranked defense there because the offense just goes too fast, but it could work. You never know. Just give him time to recruit the right players.

Steele is a complete downgrade, and I'm pissed about the hire. So many big names they could have hired, and they shite the bed. Can Steele be successful there? Probably. LSU is loaded with defensive talent. The jury is still out. I'm cautiously optimistic about the defense because the players tend to pick up the slack. Coach O hire was a home run and a huge asset in a LSU defensive line that has struggled to get to the QB over the last couple of years. Plus a major bonus in recruiting.

Every LSU fan, including myself should be more scared shiteless about the offense than the defense. If the offense doesn't improve, it doesn't matter what Steele does on defense.

What's so funny? Other than the reporter posting nonsense about the outcome of games that has nothing to do with the subject of his article, what he says about Chavis arguing his employment is true. Pay the buyout and be done. If not and you want to argue that you were under contract until February 4th with LSU and not hired at A&M until after that, then A&M committed recruiting violations. Undeniable.

Did you catch the part where Chavis is suing LSU? What would you like LSU to do in this situation? Sometimes you get what you ask for.

the part about him suing us and negotiating contracts hours before the bowl game might have something to do with it.

I honestly have no hard feelings towards Chavis, other than that supposed phone call with Sumlin on game day before the bowl.

It's business and things like this lawsuit happen all the time in the business world. Idc who is in the right, to be honest, but it would be nice to see A&M pay the fee juat because if there was some kind of wrongdoing.

Yeah, im not sold on Steele either, I had to endure him as the BU head coach and it was terrible, but the BU program was in shambles then. I really am not too worried about the D though. I think with the wealth of defensive weapons Steele will be fine and I think if he was good enough of a defensive mind to be on God's (Saban) staff then he must be a somewhat decent coach.

!. Cause he had his assistants sign extensions and then he didn't
2. Cause he fricked us over in the bowl game
3. Cause he owes us money
4. Cause he broke a contract

You need any other reasons? shite wouldn't fly in the normal world, it shouldn't here either.

Fair points made but don't expect reasonable responses from those who'd have the exact same feelings if they were in LSU fan's shoes
