If you get on Bamaonline, everyone is trying to talk him down saying how he was in high school 3 years ago, blah, blah, blah, C-USA, blah, blah. Is there any Bama fans on here who can admit this is a great hire? He will be in total control of the offense and Chizik will be hands off.

It just matters what you guys think and how well he does. Seems like a good hire to me though.

i think he'll eventually be a good hire, but there is a reason franklin's offense was such a massive failure. auburn didn't have the personnel to run a spread this season and they won't next season either

I thought the hiring of Jim McElwain was a joke. You never know how these coordinators will turn out. He may do a great job.

You are on the wrong Bama board TS thinks it is a great hire but they are slightly more realistic than BOL

When have you ever heard most Bama fans say anything good about anyone else?

If you're looking for Bama's blessings, you'll have to travel to the football mecca T-Town, there stand before the towering idol of the Bear's statue and be sprinkled with holy coca cola while taking communion with lays potato chips. Then and only then, if you make a solemn vow to never throw toilet paper in celebration, will the football world acknowledge yall made a decent hire as OC.

it was called being handcuffed by the head coach. Tuberville would not let him bring in his assistants, etc.

It looks like a pretty good hire. I'm not a Bama fan, but will the approval of an LSU fan suffice?

Heck, maybe Chizik playing the CEO role will be the right plan and your hiring of him will look good.

You're gonna get me all misty...

Now that that moment of unity is over, I want to see him fail on an epic scale on the Plains...I like the guy, but he just put on the wrong colors.

No offense, I have respect for the Auburn program for being the thorn in our side the past few decades really.

But I think Chizik, along with Malzahn, is going to be the equivalent of the Ron Zook hiring at Florida.

Half the fan base is happy, the other half questioning the hire.

Zook brought in Zauenbracher (sp) from MTSU, and he was supposed to keep the offense pass happy like Spurrier. Zauenbracher put up great numbers at MTSU, and decent numbers at UF.

But it comes back to the hiring of Chizik/Zook. I just do not think they have the leadership quality that the previous coaches had (Tubs and Spurrier)

Just my opinion.

I actually believe this is some of the best news(for auburn fans) to come out of auburn in sometime.
